Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas

“We were perfect together. Until we met.”

I can’t help but smile at the words in her letter. She misses me.

In fifth grade, my teacher set us up with pen pals from a different school. Thinking I was a girl, with a name like Misha, the other teacher paired me up with her student, Ryen. My teacher, believing Ryen was a boy like me, agreed.

It didn’t take long for us to figure out the mistake. And in no time at all, we were arguing about everything. The best take-out pizza. Android vs. iPhone. Whether or not Eminem is the greatest rapper ever…

And that was the start. For the next seven years, it was us.

Her letters are always on black paper with silver writing. Sometimes there’s one a week or three in a day, but I need them. She’s the only one who keeps me on track, talks me down, and accepts everything I am.

We only had three rules. No social media, no phone numbers, no pictures. We had a good thing going. Why ruin it?

Until I run across a photo of a girl online. Name’s Ryen, loves Gallo’s pizza, and worships her iPhone. What are the chances?

F*ck it. I need to meet her.

I just don’t expect to hate what I find.

He hasn’t written in three months. Something’s wrong. Did he die? Get arrested? Knowing Misha, neither would be a stretch.

Without him around, I’m going crazy. I need to know someone is listening. It’s my own fault. I should’ve gotten his number or picture or something.

He could be gone forever.

Or right under my nose, and I wouldn’t even know it.

Needless to say, I love all Penelope Douglas’s books. She’s an author I follow and read everything she writes. There is yet to see if one of her books does not reach my 10 star folder.

If you haven’t read Punk 57, do it now since this high school Pen Pal Love-Hate book will be sure on your re-reads folder after that.

Misha and Ryen are pen pals friends. They have been writing to each other for the past 7 years when 1 night changed everything for Misha. He stopped writing without an explanation.

After 3 months without a word, she still writes him because she promised she will never stop.

While dealing with her loss, a boy named Mason comes to Ryen’s school and begins to stand up to her mean girl bully. Misha and Mason are the same guy, but she doesn’t know that since he is on a mission. Since their towns are next to each other, they never met or know how they look. But Misha knows.

Now, he also knows Ryen is different in person to the girl he receives letters from. Why is she running this double life? Is his mission more important than the girl who has his heart? To love or hate her?

The story is breathtaking. You will be sucked right into the story and feel with them. It’s what I crave more on romance novels!

On a plus side Misha is related to one of our boys in another series of her. But I’ll let you figure it out yourself. If you want to know it, message me in the comments and I’ll reply.

Pour Judgment by Heather M. Orgeron

Korie Potter’s got goals. Goals that do not include following in her mother’s footsteps. Rock stars and the life of the rich and famous? Yeah… not interested. She likes her heart in one piece, thank you very much.

Until a weekend of booze and bad decisions at camp Pour Judgment finds her fake-engaged to country music’s most notorious bad boy, Rhett Taylor, and completely at his mercy.

You see, Korie Potter’s also got a dream, and her new “fiancé” just may have the connections to make it come true.

I fell in love with Heather M. Orgeron’s books while reading Boomerang, and since then, I am reading everything she writes.

This book has rock stars and single camps and sassy heroine, meaning it’s a recipe for “disaster”. I loved it!

Korie Potter wants nothing of the life of celebrities, even if her cousin is part of this world. When she joins him to a party, she catches the eye of Rhett Taylor, famous rock star and playboy, but her refusal only makes him want her more.

At first, he was all for the conquest and follows her to camp Pour Judgment, a camp for singles to meet and have 4 days of fun. At this camp, everything changes, because Korie is more than meets the eye and Rhett is mesmerized. During a display of begging for her phone number, they get photographed and he is on his knees.

The news of Rhett Taylor being engaged soon goes viral and he thinks this is a way to keep her by convincing her to accept the status that goes from being his fiancée and help her succeed in her skateboard career.

She tries to believe him and accepts, but soon things prove too good to be true and her world comes tumbling down. Only it’s after feelings are involved.

This was a lovely easy read for me and I’ve read it in one sitting.

Bad Boy Brody by Tijan

One punch took him from Hollywood’s Golden Boy to Bad Boy Brody.

The media didn’t care he was grieving his brother’s death. They descended on him, but to change his reputation, his manager got him a deal.

Act in an indie film, one that already had Oscar buzz, and he’d get the movie roles he needed to secure his future.

He took the deal.

Yet he wasn’t prepared for the real-life people behind the script. He wasn’t prepared for the murder the movie was based on. And he really wasn’t prepared for her, the biggest secret of all.

She was wild. She was beautiful. She defied gravity.

But was she the leading role that would tame him?

Title: Bad Boy Brody
Author: Tijan
Publication Date: May 7th, 2018
Shelves: Contemporary; Romance;
Format: Kindle (298 pages)
Rating: 10/10

As I’ve said before, I’m in a Tijan bubble lately, so Bad Boy Brody was next in line. If you get confused like I did, when you saw that the book is also told from Mathew Kellerman’s POV, I had to check again if I had a M/M book in my hands.

This actually sounds brilliant to me that this book is told from 3 POV, Brody, Mathew and Morgan. In the beginning things seems fuzzy and I was actually asking myself if Morgan was real or not. The mystery around her mother’s death and Brody coming up to shoot a movie on, has Morgan restless.

As you’ll see further down the line, Morgan is a very kindred spirit, and she has a deep connection with a herd of wild Mustangs, more with a mare that saved her when she had to run and hide while her mother was being murdered.

Only people who lose someone understand what is like to suffer and want to forget, while also fighting to remember the person you loved so much. After Brody loses his brother, everything goes downfall.

His only shot at redeeming himself is if he does this movie. What he did not expect was to find Morgan and fall hard for her. Will his love be enough for the wild girl?

Void by Raven Kennedy & Coralee June

I was born of nothing.

I’m a Void, a rare supernatural capable of absorbing powers at the brush of my skin.

Feared. Hated. Untouchable.

Thibault Academy is full of supernaturals that want me dead, and the most powerful of them, the Paragons, will stop at nothing to ensure I go back to the hell I came from. They’re cruel, heartless, and have created an unlikely alliance to take me down.

If I want to learn how to control the nothingness, I’ll have to survive them.

I was born of the void, but I’ll die from the power.

This is a reverse harem bully romance.

Title: Void
Author: Raven Kennedy & Coralee June
Publication Date: June 8th, 2019
Shelves: Contemporary; Romance; Paranormal;
Format: Kindle (382 pages)
Rating: 10/10

I have read my fair share of Paranormal Romances and got the taste of them all. This one, in particular, is something I have never read of, and I loved the inspirations the authors had.

Now, a Void is in full center in this wonderful PNR RH standalone. I devoured it in one sitting, and I can’t wait to read more of their work.

The Void, Devicka, a name I totally love by the way, has been hated and chased away since her powers came. She accidently stripped her mother of her powers and was chased away in the world of humans.

Now, she accidentally, switched powers between a vampire and a shifter, and all hell broke loose. Now, she’s being studied and sent to the prestigious Academy she dreamt her whole life attending, but under different circumstances. She is feared, hated and picked on for what she is. Because she’s a Void, she can strip away powers of supernatural and no body wants to be in her presence.

Her babysitters are Render (the Vampire), Gritt (the shifter), Hyde (the Necromancers) and Quade (the Elemental). They soon fight their attraction and find out they are destined to be mates.

Now the only problem is the Council and their need of power. When a power play is in the cards, how does a Void survive?
Loved this book!

NAKED OR DEAD by A.E. Murphy

Small town, small-minded people, small expectations, and big A-holes.
Lilith Deville is the new enigma at Lakeside Preparatory Academy, a prestigious high school by a river and not a lake, which makes sense, not. Already she hates it despite its beautiful landscape.
Between riding her dirt bike through the sacred lands of the natives, plotting against those she meets, and holding greasy truckers at gunpoint, Lilith makes no time for love or friendship. Forever the walking mystery (read misery) of her new home and school.
That is until Nokosi Locklear catches her eye with his arrogance and a hard, toned body that she’s certain she doesn’t want to climb.
Shoved up against a locker by him in her first week, she sets him in her wicked sights.
Life is only fun when you have somebody else’s pain to focus on. So long as you stay detached. Something Lilith will find is impossible to do when it comes to Nokosi. A guy with looks but no charm. Strength but no power. Love but no morals.
With a serial killer roaming the country taking victims one by one, a past in Nokosi’s eyes that he tries to hide, and a mother that would rather work than keep her daughters happy, Lilith finds plenty of time to spare and plenty of things to keep herself occupied.

Note: This is your only trigger warning. Read at your own risk.

These are the most awesome books to review because I need to carefully pick my words. I don’t want to spoiler give anything, but OMG THIS BOOK IS OFF THE CHARTS!

Fair warning, I started reading it in blind, so I did not know what was ahead. The ride was terrified and wonderful, and I don’t know how to feel. I am so heart broken on so many levels after this book, that I will need a few light rom-coms for a while!

So. This is a high school romance, or it appears as it, because Lillith is one twisted mother*cker gorgeous pick haired girl that picks the most arrogant guy in school. She has a secret agenda and she targets boys like him. I stared guessing things from 40% in the book, but I was so wrong on everything.

This books has its fair share of triggers so if you’re into dark and twisted stories, read this ASAP.

Nok is a angry young man and maybe as damaged as Lillith, and they soon fall hard and fast. But Lillith has to move soon, because she and her sister, Willow, have a game they play each place they live.

This is not a book for the light readers, because I am quite shocked, speechless and I want to shout to everyone to read it so we can hug it out.

The ending is debatable so I will not say more, but I hope your curiosity is piqued.

The Dugout by Meghan Quinn

Let me ask you a question:

If someone is vying for your spot on a team and just so happens to injure you during practice, would you believe it was on purpose?

Word around campus is . . . it was no accident.

That injury has cost me everything; my starting position, my junior year—and the draft. Now, I’m a senior fresh off recovery, struggling to find my groove, until the day I run into a nervous, fidgety, girl with freckles, in the dining hall.

They call Milly Potter The Baseball Whisperer, The Diamond Wizard, and The Epitome of All Knowledge. She believes in baseball. She breathes it. She’s the queen of an infamous dynasty, but no one actually knows who she really is, and she plans to keep it that way.

One mishap in the panini line, one miscommunication in the weight room, and many failed attempts at an apology equal up to one solid truth — Milly Potter never wants to speak to me again — no matter how good my forearms look.

Little do we both know, she’s about to become more than just my fairy ballmother.

Title: The Dugout

Publication Date: September 19th, 2019

Format: Kindle (391 pages)
Rating: 9/10

I fell in love with Meghan Quinn’s book The Locker Room and the story of Know and Emory. Now we get to see the story about Knox’s best friend Carson Stone.

Carson got injured when his career should have been at its peak, and now he’s the only senior left to play baseball after a tough recovery. Only now, he’s an angry version of what he used to be, since his game is off, and he needs to fight for his chance to get drafted. All of his friends have already been drafted, but no one dared to take a chance on a recovery athlete, even if he was one of the best.

His luck changes when he meets Milly Porter, a baseball whisperer, his Godmother on the field. She will help him recover his swing. I don’t really know baseball, but I felt like everything was explained to “dummy” language so I can understand their world. Sorry, I’m more of a basketball fan!

Milly Porter is the sister of baseball legend Cory Porter and with her other 2 brothers manages to change the impression that women can’t impact the sports of men. She’ll be partner in their D1 training facility.

Everything goes well, they meet, fall in love, but life struck and Carson finds out his father is ill. During this major moment of his life, he shuts down, and that means Molly will have to stay strong and guard her heartbreaking heart.

As a timeline, if you read The Dugout before The Locker Room, in this book Knox is placed after college but before getting back together with Emory.

Either book can be read as a standalone, but our suggestion is to read The Dugout after.

Some things are easily forgiven. Other things… not so much.

Lenny DeMaio made herself a promise: she was done.

Done thinking about him.

Done worrying about him.

Done reaching out to a man who clearly didn’t want to be found.

Too bad no one gave Jonah Collins the memo.

I think I would love everything Mariana Zapata will write. I developed a game for myself to try and find another extremely good writer on slow burns, but so far, I’ve come short. She is one of my go to authors and I’ll re-read her books ‘till the day I die.

The Best Thing is the story of Lenny DeMaio, Luna’s best friend and how she ended up after a trip to France, where she met Jonah Collins and ended up pregnant with his baby girl.

The catch is that now, Jonah is back, and he just found out he has a baby girl. Before, he planned on convincing Lenny to get back together with him, but now he needs her to trust him again. And trust requires time and commitment, things that Jonah is willing to step up.

Jonah is a rugby player who had an injury that made him disappear, because he though his life was over. Little did he know how this will impact his life had he confined in Lenny and stayed with her.

I don’t want to spoiler much, but this is a must read! The side characters are to die for, Lenny is a kick ass heroine that will blow you away, and Jonah.. well, he’s from New Zeeland. Enough said, read the book or listen to it on audio and you’re in for a treat.

Wait for It

Say You Still Love Me by K.A. Tucker

Life is a mixed bag for Piper Calloway.

On the one hand, she’s a twenty-nine-year-old VP at her dad’s multibillion-dollar real estate development firm, and living the high single life with her two best friends in a swanky downtown penthouse. On the other hand, she’s considered a pair of sexy legs in a male-dominated world and constantly has to prove her worth. Plus she’s stuck seeing her narcissistic ex-fiancé—a fellow VP—on the other side of her glass office wall every day.

Things get exponentially more complicated for Piper when she runs into Kyle Miller—the handsome new security guard at Calloway Group, and coincidentally the first love of her life.

The guy she hasn’t seen or heard from since they were summer camp counselors together. The guy from the wrong side of the tracks. The guy who apparently doesn’t even remember her name.

Piper may be a high-powered businesswoman now, but she soon realizes that her schoolgirl crush is still alive and strong, and crippling her concentration. What’s more, despite Kyle’s distant attitude, she’s convinced their reunion isn’t at all coincidental, and that his feelings for her still run deep. And she’s determined to make him admit to them, no matter the consequences.

I have always loved T.A. Tucker’s books, because she writes deeply, like I can connect with every emotion she pours into her words. This book is no different, and it’s close to my heart. If you ever experienced you first real love or the one that got away, then you’ll be in for a treat!

As opposed to all the billionaire hot guys out there, now we have Piper Calloway, an heir to an empire and a ruthless father who stood between her and her first love.

Kyle Miller is your old school, bad boy at camp, where he has every girl’s attention, but he only seeks Piper. It doesn’t help that half his family is in prison, and the world expects him to follow suit.

Say You Still Love Me has chapters between then and now, which I’m not so fond of, but I guess, this is the way the author builds the suspense. Plus, I truly feel that Kyle’s POV would be great to read!

Between Camp Wawa and 13 years later, when they meet again, their love is still strong, and their chemistry is still there. I love how her mother brings 13-year-old Piper and tells her this is how friends for life meet. She just forgot to mention that this is how you also meet the love of your life.

All in all, I loved the book, but I would have liked to have a full “then” and full “now” + Kyle’s POV.

PS: the ending is HEA, but without an epilogue into the future.

Thom Lange AKA the Wolf has a secret he’s been keeping from his fiancée, but that changes when she decided to leave him and literally blowing away into his world.

Betty finds out that Thom is not the boring, average fiancé she’s been living for a year now, a man she was planning on spending her life with. He is actually a man with a secret life, and he has been lying to her ever since. More bad news, since they are hunted and gunned at multiple times.

Being on the run makes them see the reality behind every mask, every secret and every lie. They soon find out how things really stand between them, how Thom has been faking to be an average man in an average and content relationship.

Between the chemistry that burns around them, the bullets flying, and his teammates being hunted as well, they start an op to reveal who betrayed his crew. I liked how she was involved in everything and how bad ass she was soon becoming.

This was a shot but fun read for me, since I am quite familiar with Kylie Scott’s books. I really hope we will find out more about the rest of the characters that survived this book!

Anti-Stepbrother by Tijan

He told me to settle.
He asked what was wrong with me.
He called me an easy target.
That was within minutes when I first met Caden Banks.
I labeled him an *sshole, but he was more than that. Arrogant. Smug. Alpha.

He was also to-die-for gorgeous, and my stepbrother’s fraternity brother.

Okay, yes I was a little naive, a tad bit socially awkward, and the smallest amount of stalker-ish, but if Caden Banks thought he could tell me what to do, he had another thing coming.

I came to college with daydreams about being with my stepbrother, but what if I fell for the anti-stepbrother instead?

*Stand-alone novel

Ahh, this book left me wanting for more. Whenever I read TIjan, I get into a book bubble of her books and start re-reading everything I love from her.

Anti-Stepbrother is one of my fav. Tijan has a sense of humor I completely get.

College Freshman Summer arrives early at College to find her stepbrother, a guy she loved for 2 years now, but he’s in bed with another student’s girlfriend. And the worst part, she covers for him.

This is how it all started between her and Caden Banks, because he’s the brother of the student’s boyfriend.

Her journey in college soon changes because she in torn into looking out for her stepbrother and checking out on Caden. After a few situations, they become good friends and spend a lot of time together. She’s funny and smart, with hilarious comebacks.

“I’d settle for Hot Tits.” I glanced down at mine. “Maybe the positive reinforcement will help them grow.”

An all 5 star awesome read!

Ryan’s Bed by Tijan

I crawled into Ryan Jensen’s bed that first night by accident.

I barely knew him. I thought it was his sister’s bed—her room. It took seconds to realize my error, and I should’ve left…
I didn’t. I didn’t jump out. I didn’t get embarrassed.
I relaxed.
And that night, in that moment, it was the only thing I craved.

I asked to stay. He let me, and I slept.

The truth? I never wanted to leave his bed. If I could’ve stayed forever, I would have.
He became my sanctuary.

Because—four hours earlier—my twin sister killed herself.

Wow, what a ride! I love when books feel so complete to me, there’s a satisfied feeling about ending a book like this.

Let me tell you why you should read this! It has everything in it! It’s deep, emotionally draining and so freaking raw, you cannot believe!

Mackenzie loses her twin sister the day before turning 18. She finds herself moved to a new town, without any friends, and at a house where she and her brother Robbie stay until her grandparents come to take them.

Everything is heartbreaking and she finds herself, by mistake, taking Ryan’s bed instead of his sister’s. this is how all starts and soon they develop a friendship, a bubble where they both are safe.

They are still in high school for a year, and everything comes at her because Ryan is a popular guy, maybe the most popular guy and everyone wants a piece of him. Too bad for them, since he’s into Mac.

This is a journey to self-awareness that will blow you away.

Just one thing, when you see that you have 2 more pages left to read, please film yourself to see your reaction to the last sentence at the end. I can assure you, your mouth will have to be taken from the floor.

Feel free to send it to me, I’m sure we’ll look alike!

Teardrop by Tijan

I asked for his criteria for bed buddies–that’s the PG version.
He swore at me and said he didn’t do groupies.
And just like that, our friendship was off to a great start.

Reese Forster was the starting point guard for the Seattle Thunder.
Gorgeous. Cocky. Loved by the nation.
He’s also attending preseason basketball training camp where I used to work.

Correction: where I work again, because I was fired from my last job.
And dumped.
And I might have a tiny bit of baggage, but that’s normal. Right?

Reese and I shouldn’t have become friends.
We shouldn’t have become roommates.
And we really shouldn’t have started sleeping together … (Except we did.)

I’m adorably psychotic. He’s in the NBA.
This is not a disaster waiting to happen, at all.

Wow, what a ride! I love when books feel so complete to me, there’s a satisfied feeling about ending a book like this.

Everything about Teardrop Shot had depth in it, and I crave books like this! Charlie (a name I love, by the way) has been hiding for about a year until one of her friends tracked her down and convinced her to return to the camp that she has been working for when she was young. Now, in her late twenties, she has been through a lot!

In the beginning you’ll laugh out loud, maybe bark some laughter! She is hilarious and her lines were really effing smart!

At this camp she meets the team of basketball NBA players Seattle Thunder. The team she has been freaking out! And by team, I mean Reese.

Whenever I see Office Romances, I grab them quick! I just love a book that gives me good vibes, especially after a hard day at work, in an office! He, he…

Emma is an overqualified woman working for a job that her jerk of an ex fiancé managed to screw her over. This is where she meets Arnie, and they get off on the wrong foot. They have an unspoken race they like to play, a game where Arnie starts to like her even more.

The chemistry between them is off the charts and I like how he is some sort of important guy in his Italian heritage.

What felt off for me, honestly, is that I have been reading a lot of English based romances along the years, and some of the language was not here. It felt very American to me. I know the author lives in England, and I would have loved more of their colloquial words in.

All in all, I have read this in one sitting, and I am sure I’m going to be checking Jolie Vines soon and see what else she has out there.

The Prenup by Lauren Layne

Ten years ago, I married my brother’s best friend. I haven’t seen him since. Until now …

Charlotte Spencer grew up on the blue-blooded Upper East Side of Manhattan but she never wanted the sit-still-look-pretty future her parents dictated for her. Enter Colin Walsh, her brother’s quiet, brooding best friend, and with him a chance to pursue her dreams. One courthouse wedding later, Charlotte’s inheritance is hers to start a business in San Francisco and Irish-born Colin has a Green Card.

Ten years later, they’re happily married. On different coasts. With separate lives. In fact, she hasn’t even seen Colin in a decade, and that’s just fine by her.

But fate throws her a curveball when her husband calls her back to New York, and she realize the boy she’s married is long gone. In his place is a shockingly appealing man … who wants a divorce. The problem? The terms of their prenup arrangement state that before either can file for separation, they have to live under the same roof for three months.

Now, in order to get divorced, they have to pretend to be married. For real …

So, I was looking through the books coming out today and as soon as I read the blurb, I picked it up immediately. I loved The Proposal, so there’s a lot of that vibe going on.

I looove this one, and my only single complaint is that I wanted Colin’s POV too. Damn…

Charlotte has been married for a decade to Colin, because they both beneficiated at that time, so a marriage of convenience seemed fit. I knew the moment he called to ask her for divorce that there was another woman in the picture. The only catch is that they need to live together 3 months before filing for divorce.

Now this is where things get complicated and life gets in the way, or let’s say love gets in the way.

Did I mention that Colin is one hot Irish, hot man? Or that the Immigration authorities are investigating their marriage?

This book was what I needed in this moment. I have read it in one sitting and am enjoying the thrill of reading good damn books! I always feel this was after having a week of good books!

Lauren Layne is one of the authors in my radar, and I often read her books.

The Accidental Girlfriend Blurb:

TOP TIP: Don’t put out an online ad offering your services as a fake date. Someone will take you up on it.
And it won’t just be for one night.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how I ended up being Mason Jackson’s fake girlfriend.

He didn’t even want me to be. No–his sister was solely responsible for me being his date for his ten-year high school reunion.

Now, she’s responsible for telling his parents our relationship is real.

We have no choice. We have to act like this isn’t all a mistake, like it’s not all fake, like we’re totally, completely, utterly, head-over-heels in love with each other.

Simple, right?

Title: The Accidental Girlfriend
Author: Emma Hart
Publication Date: June 25th, 2019

Format: Kindle (177 pages)
Rating: 8/10

If you’re looking for a feisty female heroine and an accidental ad, advertising her to be a fake date, this one’s for you! Lauren Green found herself ambushed by her friends on dating again, so she ends up posting online this funny ad.

Mason Jackson’s little sister reaches out and this is how they end up together at his reunion, fake dating. Mason is not interested in dating, after he ended his 6-year relationship after finding his then fiancé in bed with her boss. But he is in awe with Lauren’s personality.

This is not my first rodeo on Emma Hart’s books and by now I know they are a light read for me. Hilarious and perfect to read in between achy and heartbreaking novels.

Her books tell us a more perfect world, with heroines that don’t do stupid things when they misjudge a situation, or guys who acknowledge their feelings and embrace their relationships. If you’re looking for something heavy, this is not it.

At the end of the book the two decide on their vacation and will end up visiting Halley, which is the next book coming out soon Kiss Me Not.

It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover
Instant New York Times Bestseller

Combining a captivating romance with a cast of all-too-human characters, Colleen Hoover’s It Ends With Us is an unforgettable tale of love that comes at the ultimate price.

Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up—she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.

Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.

As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan—her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.

Title: It Ends with Us

Shelves: Contemporary; Romance;
Format: Kindle (385 pages)
Rating: 10/10

This book was everything I did not know I wanted to read. Colleen Hoover did a good job on character development, and I was fascinated by all of them.

As always, I rooted for the guy she does not end up with. Well, I guess that is my issue, ha ha… but I won’t tell you who.

While Lily is cleaning her new soon to be flower shop, she meets Allysa, Ryle’s sister and they soon become good friends.

Between the plot, there as entries of her diary to Ellen DeGeneres where she tells her story: how she fall in love with Atlas. There are years since they have not seen each other, but they will meet again.

It Ends with Us is a love triangle, but again, the characters are so well contoured, that you will have to pick a side and hope she ends up with the guy you want.

Beware, there might be some triggers for some of you, since this book deals with abuse.

How to Lose a Fiancé by Stefanie London

Sophia Andreou has always been the “good daughter” who tried to keep her domineering father happy. She followed the rules and did everything that was asked of her. But this time, her father is asking too much. The family company is crumbling, and her father has arranged a marriage to a Greek billionaire who can save their property business. What?! Umm no thank you. If Cinderella can dress up to win a prince, surely Sophia can do the opposite and ditch hers…

Dion Kourakis has come a long way from being an orphan with only a single friend to his name. Now he runs a billion-dollar investment company and has the respect of everyone in Europe. His charming personality covers a lot of emotional scars, including his desire to make his mentor proud. Dion doesn’t exactly want a bride to go along with his next business deal, and he plans on letting the lass down gently when they meet…

Only, his future bride has turned out to be nothing like what he thought she’d be. She’s quirky and has a habit of turning up to social events in strange outfits. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what she’s up to, but the harder she tries to convince him she’d be an awful wife, the more he wants to convince her they’d be perfect together.

This book’s blurb got me all excited and well, now I finally finished it. What’s not to like about How to lose a fiancé? Hello… Greek hot men, Greek land, Paris getaway… hot steamy sex… yup, I devoured this book in one sitting!

How to lose a Fiancé is my first book from Stefanie London, but for sure, it won’t be my last!

Sohia Andreou is being forced into a marriage by her father for his shady business purpose. She has to marry a Greek man. Her family drama is in the way and she has her hands tided.

Ingeniously, she thinks that if she can share him away, she can return home unmarried. Little did she know that Dion Kourakis is more than meets the eye and he’ll figure out her plan.

Interesting plot, steamy hot scenes and Greek gods in Corfu!

By the way, my Greek image of Dion is way hotter!

Rating: 10/10

Loved every minute of this book! Totally worth it.

It was such an emotional ride for me since The Locker Room follows the story of Knox and Emory from their first encounter in college throughout their adulthood.
Knox was everything I wanted him to be and did not know it, and Emory was a selfless young lady who put his baseball career before her, because she knew she would drag him down. But the sad part is that I wanted her to be selfish!!!

Damn, this book made me feel so much!

Their chemistry if’s off the charts and their texting is hilarious. Such a funny book! I think Knox Gentry is one of my favorite characters from her books.

If you want a book with baseball college students and sexy librarians to be, this one’s for you. I cannot wait to see if Meghan Quinn will do books based on the side characters because they have some potential there!

R.S. Grey‘s next romantic comedy, COLDHEARTED BOSS, is available now – be sure to grab your copy today!

I’m desperate and destitute when Lockwood Construction rolls into my small town with an offer too good to pass up: high wages to any able-bodied man willing to join their crew.

Say no more. I throw on baggy clothes, tuck my long hair under a baseball hat, and apply for a job. Unfortunately, my half-baked idea of disguising myself as a guy is flawed from the beginning. As Shakira says, these hips don’t lie.

Still, I like to think I might have pulled the whole thing off save for one thing:

I know my boss.

Last month, we met at a bar, and after a fiery first encounter, it seems we’re destined to be sworn enemies.

Ethan Stone is ruthless and arrogant, a man I never would have crossed had I known how much he likes to toy with his prey.

He should just fire me and be done with it. Instead, he decides to make me his personal slave. Oh right, I think they’re calling it personal “assistant” these days.

It’s torture, all of it—his bad attitude, his ruggedly chiseled face, his desire to grind me into dust.

Every one of our friction-filled battles burns hotter than the last.

A girl can only hold out for so long. Soon, I’m bound to go up in flames.

My objective? Survive the heat long enough to send home a paycheck.

My real objective? Stop having X-rated fantasies about my coldhearted boss.

Title: Coldhearted Boss
Author: RS Grey
Publication Date: June 6th, 2019
Shelves: Contemporary; Romance;
Format: Kindle (331 pages)
Rating: 8/10

I always get excited whenever I find a standalone book coming out from RS Grey. This is not my first and it will not be my last book that is for sure!

Coldhearted Boss started a bit uncertain for me, because the heroine what in a bit of a pickle and I did not like where it SEEMED to be going, but thankfully she was not that kind of girl.

To be more specific, they hook up on a bar, and she thinks stealing his wallet might be a solution to all her current problems, but in the end, she returns it.

The whole plot is designed on this untrusty version of her where Taylor has to jump through hoops to gain the trust of Evan, who will end up being her boss.

This standalone book is a romantic office drama, where the set is taking place in a stranded location, more specific, a construction base. It’s funny, has a love-hate vibe, an arrogant boss and a very beautiful heroine. The perfect book to take out on a beach day!
