Virtues of Syn (The Phoenix Project Duet) by Candice Wright

My mother taught me to embrace my gift.
I was special, she said, and one day I would change the world.
But that was before they murdered her and forced me into a cage.
All those things that once made me special became my curse.
And the gift I’m blessed with became a weapon to use against me.
When the chance of freedom presents itself, I take it,
Seeking to reclaim the life they stole from me.
But when a twist of fate turns my curse into the cure.
I’ll have to make a choice;
Fall on the sword that cut me down, or use it to slay my demons.
My mother said I would change the world, and I did.
But she said nothing about saving it.

Pestilence (The Four Horsemen Book 1) by Laura Thalassa

They came to earth—Pestilence, War, Famine, Death—four horsemen riding their screaming steeds, racing to the corners of the world. Four horsemen with the power to destroy all of humanity. They came to earth, and they came to end us all.

When Pestilence comes for Sara Burn’s town, one thing is certain: everyone she knows and loves is marked for death. Unless, of course, the angelic-looking horseman is stopped, which is exactly what Sara has in mind when she shoots the unholy beast off his steed.

Too bad no one told her Pestilence can’t be killed.

Now the horseman, very much alive and very pissed off, has taken her prisoner, and he’s eager to make her suffer. Only, the longer she’s with him, the more uncertain she is about his true feelings towards her … and hers towards him.

And now, well, Sara might still be able to save the world, but in order to do so, she’ll have to sacrifice her heart in the process.

Fighting for Rain (The Rain Trilogy #2) by BB Easton

The world was supposed to end on April 23, but Rainbow Williams’s world ended days before that. The mass hysteria caused by the impending apocalypse claimed everything she’d ever loved. Her family. Her city. Her will to live.

Until she met him.

Wes Parker didn’t have anything left for the apocalypse to take … he’d already lost it all by the time he was nine years old. His family. His home. His hope of ever being loved.

Until he met her.

Brought together by fate and bound by a love that would last lifetimes, Rain and Wes were prepared to die together on April 23.

They were not prepared for what would happen on April 24.

Praying for Rain (The Rain Trilogy #1) by BB Easton

“None of this matters, and we’re all going to die.”

With only three days left until the predicted apocalypse, the small town of Franklin Springs, Georgia, has become a wasteland of abandoned cars, abandoned homes, abandoned businesses, and abandoned people. People like Rainbow Williams.

Rain isn’t afraid of dying. In fact, she’s looking forward to it. If she can just outrun her pain until April 23, she’ll never have to feel it at all.

“Supplies. Shelter. Self-defense.”

Wes Parker has survived every horrible thing this life has thrown at him with nothing more than his resourcefulness and disarming good looks. Why should the end of the world be any different? All he needs are some basic supplies, shelter, and a sucker willing to help him out, which is exactly what he finds when he returns to his hometown of Franklin Springs.

As society crumbles, dangers mount, and secrets refuse to stay buried, two lost souls are thrust together in a twist of fate—one who will do anything to survive and one who can’t wait to die.

Perhaps, together, they can learn how to live.

Before their time runs out.

One Apocalypse (The Dark Side #4) by Kristy Cunning

The life goals have stacked up since I started this journey as a sad, lonely little ghost. I’m not sure how things escalated so quickly from trying to be seen and heard, to bearing the weight of the world on my vain little shoulders.
As a result, my goals have gotten a little more serious…

Goal #14: Learn to take a hit without breaking or suffering some type of death.

Goal #15: Decide once and for all if I’m going to save or destroy the world. I’m not sure why people put this sort of responsibility on hell-spawn like me.

Goal #16: Practice my evil laugh, because all hell-spawn need a good evil laugh.

Goal #17: Find and kill all the unicorns. Mwahahahahaha.

Goal #18: Live to enjoy forever with the guys I sacrificed all my memories to save.

Goal #19: No matter what, they don’t get to die. Or I really will be THE Apocalypse.

We’re the most screwed up collection of antiheroes the world has ever seen, because the only thing that makes me want to save the world is knowing I could lose my boys forever if I don’t. It’s one HELL of a love story, you know?

**Series FINALE. (Read in order: Four Psychos, Three Trials, Two Kingdoms, and One Apocalypse. This book cannot be read as a stand-alone.)

Title: One Apocalypse (The Dark Side Book 4)
Author: Kristy Cunning
Publication Date: November 30th, 2018
Shelves: Contemporary; Romance; Paranormal;
Format: Kindle (284 pages)
Rating: 10/10

I enjoyed more the beginning than the end, because the end is always bittersweet especially with this author.

I was so glad I’ve read this series when all the books were out, because I don’t think I would have survived.

This series is phenomenal, I loved every minute / word of it.

I don’t think it’s a dark romance and my tolerance is low. It was fun, interesting plot and awesome characters.

It’s a RH series I read time and time again.

I won’t spoil the end, but it will be worth it. Paca saves the day and you won’t see it coming. She is truly an unpredictable character and one you’ll remember.

The books are currently at 0.99 USD each so I might think you will be foolish not to but them all.

Two Kingdoms (The Dark Side #3) by Kristy Cunning

I’m getting a little tired of completing my goals, only to have the bar raised too substantially for me to transition at a productive pace…
I started off as a sad little ghost with an impossible crush on four really hot, Gothic guys with some attitude problems. Now I’m The Apocalypse, they’re the Four Horsemen, and Lucifer is my fucked up daddy. Now my additional goals look like this?

Goal #9: Make a deal with the Devil without getting cheated, manipulated, or tricked.

Goal #10: Make my boys love me and take over the world…okay…so maybe just that first part. That second part sounds like it could take too much ambition, and I just don’t have the drive for that.

Goal #11: Make cookies.

Goal #12: Call dibs on my favorite color.

Goal #13: Find out if my siblings or my father killed me and my boys…

Title: Two Kingdoms (The Dark Side Book 3)
Author: Kristy Cunning
Publication Date: June 28th, 2018
Shelves: Contemporary; Romance; Paranormal;
Format: Kindle (211 pages)
Rating: 10/10

In book 3 things start to make sense. A lot of unanswered questions have now answers. We finally know what everybody’s purpose is.

Jahl is a thing that threatens the world, all their worlds and someone needs to be the hero. We now know Paca has something to do with it, but her plan was so secret that even she did not know about it.

She left her riddles and clues as to what to do and we see a lot of hints throughout this book. After reading it the 2nd time and maybe 3rd, I start to see little details that I’ve missed the first time.

This book has been emotional because her relationship with the guys is more equal than it was in their previous lives. She is scared she forced the guys to be with her.

I love that they don’t remember and have to fall in love again and I love that they have to reassure this life as all the others.

Three Trials (The Dark Side #2) by Kristy Cunning

So, I’ve checked off some life goals and added a few new ones to my list.

Goal #5: Get out of hell’s belly without letting my ungrateful charges die.

Goal #6: Get a new name that’s more badass.

Goal #7: Stop wasting my breath on lectures and start annoying the quad hell squad every time they annoy me. Fight fire with fire. Ha! Another hell pun.

Goal 8: Find out who the hell killed me.

I’ll add more. I don’t want to overwhelm myself before I even finish checking off my old goals. But seriously, I really do need a more badass name, considering how much I have to keep saving my damsels in distress.

I probably shouldn’t call them damsels, since they’re a little murderous and all.

Maybe I should add seeing a hell-certified psychologist to my list of goals.

Title: Three Trials (The Dark Side Book 2)
Author: Kristy Cunning
Publication Date: December 2nd, 2017
Shelves: Contemporary; Romance; Paranormal;
Format: Kindle (210 pages)
Rating: 10/10

We finally have more answers as to what Keyla is and her real name.

Because they complete the impossible trials, the world finally knows that Paca and her 4 Horsemen are back.

Now we understand more about their bond and how they came to find each other in every life. But the more answers we get, the more questions we make.
The author is brilliant and makes her books keep you close to your seat. I couldn’t stop reading.

The 2nd books comes with more twisted information. A lot of close deaths and builds up for their shared moment. Yup, we get a very hot, sexy and steamy scene for you to enjoy. I am glad it took that long, since we needed to bond with them as well. We need to understand how Paca is created and how she loves so deeply.

All this character development is critical, and every piece of information is necessary for you to understand their world.

War, Famine, Death and Conquest have their goal in their world and all of them need to find out what it is.

Again, this PNR series is a must on your TBR list.

Four Psychos (The Dark Side #1) by Kristy Cunning

I’m not so different from most people.
Like everyone else, I have life goals.

Goal #1: Become a real girl instead of this invisible ghost thing I currently am.

Goal #2: Convince the four men I’ve been haunting for the past five years to pick me to be their new toy after goal one is complete.

Goal #3: Figure out who/what I am and why I can’t remember anything past the five years I’ve been haunting this quad.

Goal #4: Eat popcorn.

See? Perfectly normal. Sort of.
Gotta start small, after all.
It’s not like anyone else is perfect either.

This is one of my favorite PNR romance series. If you don’t know by now, keep in mind Kristy Cunning is a Pen name for RH romance written by CM Owens. So, if this is news to you, go check it out and see all her book.

Four Psychos introduces us the 4 guys our ghost has been watching for the past 5 years. Without them she disappears into nothingness until they return home. She is anchored to them somehow.

When someone tries to kill one of them, she protects him and by doing that, she “levels up” and starts to become visible only for them.

They immediately become defensive and try to figure why is she here, and who she is. Unfortunately for Keyla, she does not receive the welcome she deserves when they finally meet her.

While she tries to level up, the guys have a trial to compete.

Make sure you are ready for some big surprises along the way.
