You May Kiss the Groomsman (Meet Me at the Altar #3) by Samantha Chase

It seemed like a good idea at the time…

When Josie Sullivan agrees to marry her friend Tyler, it’s just so he’ll get a promotion at work. That’s what friends do, right? But what should have been a quick, quiet affair starts to look like the real thing when his family shows up in the middle of the “proposal.” Now, it’s no longer a quick stop at the courthouse during a lunch break, but a full-blown wedding and there’s nothing Josie can do to stop it.

There was no way he could hold his peace…

Daniel Alexander hasn’t been home in years. After fifteen years as a Navy SEAL, he’s more than ready to return to civilian life. Being away for so long, he’s missed a lot of his younger brother’s life and it seems like he’s back just in time to stop him from making the biggest mistake of his life. No matter how he breaks it down, something’s just not adding up about this wedding and he’s determined to figure out why. And he’s not just trying to stop it from happening because he’s finding himself wildly attracted to the bride-to-be.

Or because they can’t stop kissing each other.

Josie had given up on finding her own happily ever after and as her attraction to Daniel keeps growing, she’s suddenly regretting her decision to help out a friend. Now she just needs to decide if she wants to kiss the groom…or the groomsman.

Wild Ride (Wilde Horse Ranch Book 2) by Kim Loraine

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas…

Unless that includes waking up married, tattooed, and in bed with a reality TV star. Marrying the woman of my dreams shouldn’t be an issue, right? But it’s a huge problem since my wife belongs on the other side of the long-running feud between the Ryker and the Wilde families.

Yes, TV viewers around the world, I’m Sutton Wilde and my new bride is none other than Sera Ryker.

Oops.

The easy solution is to get a quickie divorce and move on…until the video of our wedding pops up all over social media the next day. Time for plan B — stay married for thirty days to satisfy her TV contract and prevent a PR nightmare.

Trouble is, I’ve carried a torch for Sera Ryker for a long time, and she doesn’t want to have anything to do with me. Guess that means I have thirty days to make my wife fall in love with me.

Game on.

I wanted something sweet and light because I was in between dark books. Got this as a freebie and picked it up right away. It had a favorable trope for me, I love accidentally married in Vegas so I had a winner.

Southern romance makes me think of Gone with the Wind and it always plasters a smile on my face. There is something good with reading a book with cowboys in it.

Truth be told, this is the first book I am reading from this author and even though it’s the second book in the series, you can read it as a standalone. It didn’t bother me in the least that I know nothing more of the world of the main character’s siblings from previous books.

There is a long-lasting feud between Sera’s family and Sutton’s and both have to struggle with their faith in each other. This is a sweet romance book and perfect for a light read. The fact that they both end up married and live streaming the whole thing on social media makes their plan for annulment a bust.

Sera is known for her family’s reality show and Sutton’s grandfather a well know actor. They know how much a reputation can cost their family so they agree to stay married for 30 days.

Can Sutton make Sera realize they can be good together?

Accidental Mail Order Bride by J. S. Cooper

City girl in Montana looking for her Romeo…

Sounds like the start to a Hallmark movie right? Well, it would if they had movies about idiot women flying across the country to marry a man they’d never met.

Yup, that’s what I did. I responded to an ad in a random newspaper that I found on the train. And now I’m trying to find Horseshoe Ranch so that I can marry some cowboy I’ve never even seen. And no, this isn’t the 1800’s. I’m just desperate.

To make matters worse, the cowboy doesn’t even know I’m coming. His mom and dad arranged it all. The only reason I’m going is because I have $100 to my name and an old mafia boyfriend after me. I figured life couldn’t get any worse in Montana. I was wrong.

In my excitement, I left the address and phone number to the ranch at home, so now I’m here in Montana and I have no idea where I’m supposed to go. So I took a taxi and stopped at a local bar to ask for directions. And that’s when all my problems began.

Excerpt Accidental Mail Order Bride by J. S. Cooper

Beau sat down on the chair next to me and looked at me. “So, Lucy Kensington, what are you doing here in Montana?”
I gave him a small smile, not really sure what to say. He obviously wasn’t going to let it go. “You remember my full name?”
“Well, of course,” he laughed. “Who would forget your name? You’re beautiful.”
“Wow, thank you.” I was surprised at the compliment.
“I’m sure you know you’re beautiful, especially if you’re from New York City.”
“Well, why do you say that”?
“I just mean that even in a city as big as New York City, I’m sure you’re considered beautiful. What brought you out here to Montana?” he asked again.
“Wow, you really want to know badly.”
“I guess we just don’t get many visitors, and I’ve never heard of you before.” He shrugged. “I’m just curious.”
“I’m an old friend of your mom’s,” I didn’t like lying, but I couldn’t really say, I’m actually here to marry you. How’d you feel about that?
“Oh, I thought I knew all my mom’s friends.” He looked surprised. “How do you guys know each other?”
“Oh, well we go way back.” And if “way back” meant one month, then so be it.
“Way back, huh? Don’t tell me you’re my mom’s age, and you just had really good plastic surgery or something?”
“Well, hey, I didn’t want to say.” I laughed. “So, you think I look young, huh?”
“Well, you certainly don’t look my mom’s age.”
“No, I’m not your mom’s age, obviously. I’m just a younger friend of hers.”
“Hmm, do you have friends who are younger?”
“Do I have friends that are younger than me? Yeah.”
“When I say they’re younger than you, I mean, by a couple of years, not by a couple of decades.”
“Well, I don’t like to be ageist or anything.”
“What’s your story, Lucy Kensington?”
“I don’t have a story. I don’t even know what you mean.”
“You’re giving me that innocent little face, aren’t you?” He shook his head. “I’m going to get the story out of you one way or another. I know, there’s more to this than you’re letting on.”
“I don’t know what you mean. I mean, I’m just …” And then I paused because I heard more voices and they didn’t sound familiar. “Oh, I think maybe some of your other brothers are home now.”
“Probably. You know, there are seven of us, right?”
“Of course, Amelia told me.” Five minutes ago, I was thinking in my head.

Publication Date: February 16, 2021

This book was SUCH a nice surprise!!! I loved every minute of it. It light, it has a heroine that you’ll love and a hero that you’ll swoon over… characters that make you laugh.

I started it last night and of course finished it because i just couldn’t put it down. I’ve been in a funk lately so that it way I say it was such a nice surprise. And I just knew from 5% that I WAS LOVING IT.

AND let me tell you, this series is something I am looking forward to it because the Bates family is something to read about. And we have Sophie’s sister Liv and their brother Jabe. I feel it already.

About the book, Sophie has a B&B that needs to be paid soon, because her taxes are due and she faces her business to be taken away. In comes Holden, her childhood BFF who comes into town to take care of his Pop’s Vet clinic until he lands a new job.

Both of them need each other and a marriage of convenience is perfectly crazy and a solution for Sophie not to lose the business and Holden to be a married man in order to land his dream job. What they try to deny is the chemistry between them and that maybe,  Sophie is what Holden is searching for, not a job.

LOVE, love, love it.

Live-in property & pet caretaker needed. Six-year minimum. Background check required. Generous compensation. Marriage of convenience required.

The moment that Wyett Villin read the ad on her local community’s page, she knew that it would be perfect. It didn’t matter how big the house was, what kinds of animals she had to take care of, or what the compensation was. She didn’t give a flip as long as it got her out of her childhood home and away from the person that she despised the most.

Only, she had no clue that by accepting the position, she would be agreeing to watch over the mini-mansion and two large dogs of Hunt McJimpsey, computer hacker extraordinaire, sexy nerd, and convicted felon of Souls Chapel, Texas.

She’d meant to make her life easier, not complicate it more.

***

Hunt McJimpsey was careful. He knew exactly what he was doing and practically planned every single step that he took to make sure that he always had his tracks covered.

But one single mistake costs him five years of his life, and if he’s going to go down for the crime, he might as well make it spectacular.

Three years into his prison sentence, he’s a changed man, and definitely not for the better.

He’s harder, angrier, and even more brilliant and conniving than before he went in.

He thinks that by keeping up with his dogs’ babysitter, his property caretaker, and reluctant wife, that he’s only doing his due diligence as a responsible person. Only, what starts out as curiosity for his property turns into genuine like for the woman that is caring for what means the most to him.

When an opportunity to get out of the hellhole known as prison arises and the only thing he has to do is join a motorcycle club and sign some of his free time away to help those less fortunate, he jumps at the chance.

Not only because he’s ready to get the hell out of prison, but because he’s ready to meet the woman that he’s been falling for, one visit a week, for the last three years.

Zeke by J. S. Scott (Billionaire Unwed)

You met Lia and Zeke in Billionaire Unloved, Jett and Ruby’s book. Now you can find out what happened to them. Did Lia really end up marrying the wrong guy?

Although this story is part of The Billionaire’s Obsession series, it can be easily be enjoyed as a standalone friends to lovers billionaire romance.

Lia:

I thought I had my life all worked out. My wedding had been meticulously planned. All I had to do was walk down the aisle and get married to the man I’d been engaged to for over a year.

Pretty easy and uncomplicated, right?

Unfortunately, all of my well laid plans go up in smoke when my fiancé leaves me at the church alone because he found a woman who was better suited for his snobby world of wealth and privilege.

After realizing what kind of man my intended groom really was, it was hard not to be more relieved that I’d dodged a bullet than I was heartbroken. Problem is, I still need to get married. All of my hopes and dreams are dependent on me tying the knot by my twenty-eighth birthday, and that date is closing in fast. Way too quickly for me to fall in love all over again.

As usual, my best friend Zeke Conner is there to pick up the pieces after I’m left at the altar by a jerk. He helps me work through the demoralizing event so I can put it behind me and move on. I’m stunned when he offers to marry me himself, but it’s a bargain I can’t really refuse.

As my relationship starts to change with my best friend, I find myself caught in a web of sensual desire and unending passion that’s as terrifying as it is satisfying. Probably because it seems all too real.

Our arrangement was supposed to be temporary. A deal between friends that Zeke swore would benefit both of us, but as our marriage starts to feel like so much more than just a charade for me, what will happen when it all ends?

This book was originally published under the title “Temporary Groom” as a part of the now-discontinued Left at The Altar Series. It’s been completely re-written with added chapters and material, and retitled Billionaire Unwed as part of The Billionaire’s Obsession series.

Don’t Kiss the Bride by Carian Cole

My dream was simple. Graduate this spring, save up enough money to escape the house of horrors I was living in, and see the world in a cool RV with my cat, Gus. No strings.

Then I passed out and face-planted in front of sexy, brooding Jude “Lucky” Lucketti, and he rushed me to the ER. It wasn’t one of my finest moments. But it was one of his. I guess you could say I was a damsel in distress, and Jude was my knight in shining armor. He became my own personal hero, turning up in all the right places at the right times.

But in reality, I was a girl with a serious eating disorder and a lot of bad luck, and he was a hot, older construction worker with lots of muscles and tattoos.

Under his rough exterior, he was a good guy. We became friends, and it didn’t matter that he was sixteen years older than me. We had a lot in common—like our love of rock music and vintage cars, and a mutual anti-marriage stance after coming from broken homes.

So when he proposed, it wasn’t like you think. He figured if he married me and put me on his insurance plan, I could get the medical treatment I needed and couldn’t afford. He even told me I could move into the extra bedroom at his house.

I said yes.

The arrangement would be temporary. A marriage on paper and nothing else. Within a year, we’d divorce.

It should have been easy, but it wasn’t.

Because here I am, eighteen years-old, still in high school, and married to a man I was never supposed to fall in love with.

I did, though.

We had just one rule—no kissing the bride.

Little did we know, breaking that rule on our wedding day would seal our fate forever.

The Favor by Suzanne Wright

Vienna Stratton knew she only had herself to blame. You didn’t let yourself become indebted to a man like Dane Davenport, no matter how badly you needed his help. As his personal assistant, she was very aware that the globally successful CEO was ruthless and unforgiving.

Of course, if she’d known he’d request that she be his wife for twelve months, she’d have hesitated in accepting his help. Because what she’d learned from Dane was that the devil wasn’t ugly and terrorising. He was seductive and captivating. He hummed with whispers of temptation – the temptation to sin and surrender, to let him brand and possess you. He awakened every need and fantasy you had.

He could even make you love him.

This book has been my enjoyment for the last 2 nights. I have been in a book funk lately and nothing held my attention and I really found myself struggling to get into reading mode.

Usually I devour a book in 1 day, but this one felt like it took me a while.

I love the trope of fake marriage and an office romance, but again, because Dane was such a mystery and broody and all alpha, I was waiting any second for the other shoe to drop.

I fell in love with this author by reading her PNR series and this standalone did not disappoint.

Vienna is a strong woman who has been Dane’s fantasy for a while. Even though he wanted this marriage for a different purpose, his possessiveness took over and wanted her all to himself. They had to do a lot of work convincing people and I think up to this date, this is the most elaborate marriage of convenience trope I have read. It was like somebody was telling me her life story.

Plus for the hot scenes and all the “oh, no!” I had during this book.

Enjoy! ***** stars

The Proposal (SWANK #1) by Maya Hughes

When I envisioned Zara Logan dropping to her knees in front of me, this wasn’t what I had in mind…

I was expecting a lot less glaring and a lot more moaning.

So, I slip the diamond ring onto her finger and agree to play the perfect fiancé. How hard can this be?

A hell of a lot harder than I thought…

She’s infuriatingly stubborn and she thinks I’m a cocky jerk with an enormous ego. (She’s right, but I can definitely back it up…)

As our long days stretch into even later nights, it’s getting harder to remember we’re only playing pretend, which means one thing.

She won’t be faking it for long…
