Broken Wings (Dark Legacy #1) by Tate James & Jaymin Eve

They rule my new town, my school, and with more money than God, there’s very little out of their reach.

Four gorgeous, perfect, scary boys. There used to be five, but one of them died, leaving a fifth position that I now fill.

I didn’t ask for this. I didn’t want to be part of this billionaire-boys-club. But no one cares about what I want.

Sebastian Beckett is the worst of them. Their leader. He draws me in, and strips me of every defense I have. He calls me Butterfly, but it’s not a pet name, it’s a threat. Beck wants nothing more than to break my wings, pin me to a board and watch me writhe.

He wants to see me broken. Body, heart and soul.

And what these elite want, they get.

Only they’ve never met Riley Jameson.

Let the battle begin.

*This dark contemporary romance features one girl and four sexy, dangerous boys but is NOT a reverse harem.*

Title: Broken Wings (Dark Legacy #1)
Author: Tate James & Jaymin Eve
Publication Date: March 18th, 2019
Shelves: Contemporary; Romance;
Format: Kindle (325 pages)
Rating: 7/10

I really have mixed feelings about this one. I think the authors wanted to make Riley the center of it all, that they make her judge everyone else for the things she is actually doing.

I feel like this is a typically bully, enemies to lovers romance that resembles the same as other trope related books, only this one isn’t reverse harem.

But, I do enjoy them and managed to read the book avoiding some things that bugged me. Things like their uniform, or cattish slut shaming vibes. Not to mention, boys with ages 17-20 with all these skills? I guess it would have made more sense if this was a paranormal series. Now, THAT would have been more intriguing.

I guess this is why I feel a bit disappointed, but the authors did a good job writing a book that fits its audience.

What I did love was that Riley was into racing and this was actually the thing that made me buy the book. The fact that she lost her whole family before she turned 18, and was returned to her birth mother made an interesting turn of events.

Suddenly, she is at a rich mansion, facing a Cruella alike biological mother, that wants to turn her into something she’s not. Of course, she rebels, and on her first night there, she ends up racing and losing.

It’s there she meets Sebastian and his crew. She makes an enemy out of him.

Beware of the cliffhanger!!

Poison Throne (Royals of Arbon Academy Book 3) by Tate James & Jaymin Eve

They’re waiting for you.

Those four words should have been a warning. They should have filled Violet with dread. But she was so focused on Rafe’s disappearance, she forgot.

The resistance was supposed to be fighting for a better world. A group of freedom fighters formed during the Monarch War, pushing back against laws that would see everyone enslaved. For a while there, they gave hope.

In a world torn apart by the death of monarchs, new leaders rise. Violet dives headfirst into the viper’s nest with one singular goal: rescue the stolen prince who possesses half her heart.

With the unwavering support of Jordan at her side, Violet knows she can face whatever the resistance throws at them. Even if she was the intended target all along.

Keep your enemies closer.

Elemental Compass (Supernatural Prison Book 7) by Jaymin Eve

Jacob Compass is stuck in the human world, navigating a peaceful treaty so that supernaturals are not exposed. Justice Winter reluctantly finds herself helping him with this task, all the while dreaming about punching him in his perfect, smug face. Suffice it to say, their coexistence is a challenge in many ways.

Turns out, though, that during this battle against an enemy that they can’t just kill and get rid of–annoying as it may be–they learn that they have more in common than just their fey race. More than the fact that both of them find joy in the fire element.

There’s something deeper that exists in their souls, and maybe, it might just take the end of the world for them to figure out what it is.

*This is the final in the Supernatural Prison series. Full length urban fantasy/paranormal romance.

Willa Knight: The saviour of both worlds, or the destruction of everything?

Sometimes history lies, and the tales of Minatsol and Topia are no different. Since the birth of Topia, Staviti has woven a web of deceit around the truth of Creation, striving only to maintain his power while destroying anything that gets in his way. Now, Willa and the Abcurses are determined to strip back the layers, to uncover the truth, and to understand the true nature of the two worlds before it’s too late.
The only problem?
Any wrong step in their quest to restore balance might have terrible repercussions. Every single being—living or dead—might have to pay the price.

I was in the mood to read a PNR series that would keep me up at night. This is one of those books that you can’t help but finish it as soon as you can. Take some time off before starting this, because you won’t put these damn books away.

Willa Knight is a dweller but one that does not meet the charts. She’s different, commanding but foolishly clumsy. There’s always something going on around her. Tripping, falling, burning down the buildings by accidents… yup, that’s her.

And this is how she catches the attention of 5 sols when she accidentally found herself at Blesswood, the academy of sols training to be gods of Topia.

What she did not know is that her uniqueness will make her wanted by this 5 beautiful powerful sols.

Our Abcurses boys are:
Siret – gift of Trickery
Yael – gift of Persuasion.
Coen – gift of pain
Rome – gift of strength
Aros – gift of Seduction.

Neutral (Curse of the Gods #4.5) by Jaymin Eve & Jane Washington

Sometimes, the end is only the beginning.

Emmy was born a dweller and she expected to die as a dweller … until Willa changed everything. Now she has no idea of her path, and she certainly wasn’t prepared for what would happen after her death. Caught in the middle of a war that threatened to prove much more significant than anyone had ever expected, there is only one person who can help her … but his terms are steep.

Cyrus was born out of necessity: a being of light, brought to life with a singular purpose. Time has changed him and the recent events have unsettled him … but a certain transformed dweller is about to do much worse than that. She is about to turn his existence upside down.

Topia is giving them no choice: they survive together, or the war is lost.

This is a NOVELLA, over 30,000 words. Book 4.5 of 5 in the Curse of the Gods Series

Neutral is all about Cyrus and his fascination about Emmy. I think he’s too lonely and looks to the way Willa is to her guys.

When Willa Freaking Night makes Emily a God, the game has changed drastically.

While she is recovering form her gift sharing, Cyrus and Emily become more. They go on a search to see what type of God she is.

Of course he’ll ask for everything in return for his protection.

I think I have a whole new idea of what’s going into Cyrus’ head and I love their story.

Willa Knight: Dead? Alive? Damned to a state of eternal bad luck?

Willa and the Abcurse brothers are back, and more determined than ever to stick by each other. Unfortunately, Staviti has other plans, plans that threaten to change the natural order of the worlds—though nobody really understands why. His agenda may very well affect all beings on Minatsol, even those that thought themselves safe in Topia. Even Willa-invincible-Knight.
Unsure with her new place in the worlds, Willa must follow the Abcurses to their new post: Champions Peak, a secluded mountain far from civilization, where the most powerful sols have been summoned to hone their abilities through direct contact with the gods.
There is a chance that she might survive her time on the mountain, but it seems like staying alive amidst the powerful occupants of the Peak is the least of her concerns.
Her real problem is staying on the mountain at all.

I think I started this Series again to reach book 4. It’s one of my favorite in the series and damn… it will be worth your time.

Willa is unsure of her place in this world of Gods. She is dead and now a Beta? A God? Keep reading and find out.

She’ll do some badass things that will leave you with your mouth hang open.

Staviti has plans for them all and not a good one. They were sent back to Minatsol and need to teach the most powerful sols to ascend to Topia. The ones that fail, will be killed alongside their teachers.

Can I say now that Willa is part of this? Of course she is, because she always finds herself in the most dangerous circumstances.

I encourage you to read Neutral as well. It’s short but tells the story until Willa wakes up from her long nap.

Seduction (Curse of the Gods #3) by Jaymin Eve & Jane Washington

Willa Knight: Dweller? Sol? Accidental evolutionary hiccup?

Willa has never been a particularly useful dweller: she isn’t very good at chores, she isn’t very good at worshipping, she isn’t very good at not having opinions, and she isn’t very good with rules—but none of that matters anymore.
The rules are changing.
The dwellers are trying to make their own way in the world, and Willa can’t seem to help getting tangled up in their plans.
Luckily, she has the Abcurse brothers to help her out—until she doesn’t, and suddenly she’s alone again in a world on the brink of chaos. With the Abcurses gone, she’ll have to rely on her wits, and her sister Emmy, to stay under the radar and survive.
Because someone wants her dead.

But, really, what else is new?

Willa Knight is not your typical dweller and not your typical beta. She plays be her own games and the boys are in for the ride.

The fact that she clumsily starts a rebellion of the dwellers is something only she would do. She has the support of the boys and she’s changing the rules of their world.

When the Abcurses are taken back to Topia for their punishment, she is alone with the people who want her gone.

As a Beta of Chaos, she is wanted dead to ascend to power. But everybody has a different plan and it won’t go accordingly, as always.

I love the boys and how there are very beautifully written as different as their powers.

This 3rd book has more funny, but a little bit of emotional for you since you’ve come so far and Willa is dear to your heart.

Supernatural Academy: Year One by Jaymin Eve

Maddison James is about to discover some truths about the world.

Firstly … supernaturals exist.
WTF?

Secondly … she is one, even though no one seems to know exactly what kind.
Double WTF.

Thirdly … she’s about to go back to school.
Well, things just got a little more interesting.

The Supernatural Academy is where shifters, vampires, magic users, and fey are educated. Where they are taught about their abilities, and how to function in the human world. Maddison already has the human part down, but this supernatural thing is an entirely new dangerous game.

Example one: mean girls who can actually turn you into a frog.

Example two: Asher Locke, a god at the Academy. Not literally … well, who knows for sure. He certainly acts the part, as do all of his minions who worship him.

Asher drives her crazy, because apparently gorgeous and arrogant is her thing. Sparks fly between them, and the more they’re thrown together, the more Asher is determined to figure out what’s been blocking her abilities.

Until the moment the truth is revealed, and they find out nothing in this supernatural world is what they thought.

Including each other.

Supernatural Academy is 105k words, full length urban fantasy story. Recommended 17+ due to language and sex scenes.

If you ask me what I thought about this book, I have one thing to say: how cruel Jaymin Eve must be to not make this a RH. Honestly, with the 5 hot Atlantean guys, how can she not want them all?

Anyway, I love academy series and I was surprised to find out that it’s not RH, BUT the plot was interesting enough to keep me going.

Asher is one of the last royals of Altantis, being part of this world of the water magic. He rules the Academy along his 4 best friends. In comes Maddison James, a girl who just found out she has magic in her and that supernatural exists.

Not only this, but she gets “kidnapped” and offered to join courses and learn how to control her powers.

Of course, she’s no doormat and she makes enemies as soon as she can. Even though she is warned to stay away from the 5 hot guys, she catches their eye, but most importantly, Asher Locke’s interest.

When they find out that she has connection of Atlantis God in her, the troubles knock on their door.

This is not an enemy to lovers book and not your usual bully RH.

Persuasion (Curse of the Gods #2) by Jaymin Eve & Jane Washington

Willa Knight: Dweller? Bad-ass? Notorious pet to five magical beings?

In Blesswood, there are rules, and someone is trying to teach her how to follow them. The only problem is Willa. Which shouldn’t be anything new, since she has been a problem since birth—something her pseudo-sister Emmy would agree on.

So it definitely shouldn’t be new … but it is.

Because things are starting to happen that have never happened before.

Things are starting to get …chaotic.

Willa Knight has proven to be more than just a dweller, but we need to go through the series to find out more.

The pace of the story is just enough to give you something and then crave for more and more answers.

This is my 2nd time reading the series and I can say I appreciate it more now. If you’re starting this now, be thankful because you can binge read it.

The Abcurses have taken Will under their wings and the Gods have noticed. Their connection is building, but at a slower pace. They still see her as vulnerable, even though she proves herself to be more and more badass, at least in her head.

A lot of clumsy later, more tripping and falling, she begins to form a bit of power.

I loved it and please keep reading. It’s a series that you’ll remember.

Trickery (Curse of the Gods #1) by Jaymin Eve & Jane Washington

Willa Knight: Dweller. Slave. Non-magical being.

In Minatsol, being a dweller means that you are literally no better than dirt. In fact, dirt might actually be more useful than Willa. Her life will be one of servitude to the sols, the magic-blessed beings who could one day be chosen to become gods.

At least her outer village is far removed from the cities of the sols, and she won’t ever be forced to present herself to them… Until one small mistake changes everything, and Willa is awarded a position to serve at Blesswood, the top sol academy in the world—a position that she definitely did not earn.

Under the sudden, watchful eye of the gods, she will be tasked to serve the Abcurse brothers, five sols built of arrogance, perfection and power. They are almost gods themselves, and under their service she is either going to end up sentenced to death, or else they are going to ruin her so badly that she will wish for it.

Either way, she is in trouble.

Wrath of The Gods (The Titan’s Saga #2) by Jaymin Eve & Leia Stone

#NeverTrustATitan

Or more specifically, the world of one very annoying, bad at sarcasm, sex on legs, Titan.

Cronus was everything she never knew she wanted, or needed, in her life. And then he just left.

Left her alone, with no idea what’s happening to the world, what’s happening with the sins.

Only someone miscalculated. Whether it was Cronus or the fates, there’s no way they can do this without Maisey.

Turns out, she’s the most important piece

Releasing The Gods (The Titan’s Saga #1) by Jaymin Eve & Leia Stone

Maisy Parker isn’t asking for a lot in life. Just good friends, good fun, and finally reaching one hundred thousand followers on Instagram.

She’s well on her way to all of that, until one drunken dare ends up with a cut hand, blood sacrifices, and a thousand-year-old prison opening to reveal a giant of a man.

Finding herself with a Titan of a problem, she does the only thing that makes sense in that situation: selfie. Because he’s beyond hot, and that has got to be worth twenty thousand followers.

Only it turns out, this is no joke.

Cronus really is a Titan, and he’s set out to destroy the leader of the Greek pantheon.

When Maisy makes a colossal mistake, unleashing an untold evil on the world, Cronus is the only one that can help her.
#oops

Maisy is starting to see that she should have been less interested in Instagram and more interested in the impending end of the world.

An end she quite possibly caused—not that she’s admitting to anything just yet.

He ignored me, choosing to look around my tiny house instead. “This is where you live?” he asked, unable to hide the grimace from his face. “How have you survived? I see no servants. No…”
I snorted, cutting him off. “Yeah, in my world I’m the servant, big man.”
His expression was unreadable as he stared at me again. “Servant and prostitute. Quite the combination there.”
Fuck you, dude. #instagrammodel #notaprostitute
“This is a judgement free zone, asshole,” I told him crossing my arms. “I don’t judge you on the fact that you’ve spent … did you say two thousand years in a cave, and you don’t judge me for being a tiny bit shallow and without any real life skills.” Narrowing my eyes, I was the one to step closer now. “Deal?”
“No,” he said immediately.
Throwing my hands in the air, I spun and stormed toward the bathroom. Or tried to at least. Our bond slapped me in the face, and since he didn’t move with me, I was basically just lifting my legs and not going anywhere. “I need to shower,” I snapped at him.
His gaze turned contemplative, and then he nodded. “Right, cleaning yourself is important. Humans are such primitive, dirty beings.”
At this stage I was beyond being offended by him, and I decided to just fuck with him a bit. “For sure, big man. Can you sit outside the door so I don’t feel like I’m being torn into two.”
He nodded, as if he was acknowledging this and agreeing.
The moment I got inside, I shut and locked the door, not that my flimsy little lock would keep him out if he decided to come in, but it made me feel better.
Stripping off my clothes, I turned the shower on as hot as it went, and as I stepped in, I felt a tugging on my body–we were clearly right at the end of the distance, but I wasn’t writhing in pain, so it was working.
Grabbing my body wash, I started to lather my skin, washing off the sand, blood, and dirt from my beach and cliff falling experience, and as I did most nights I showered, I sang as loud as I could.
My song choice this time though, was purely designed to annoy the big dude, so I started with spice girls.
By the time I moved on to my hair, I was in the middle of a full on concert, mixing it up between Spice Up Your Life and Wannabe. I jumped when a heavy hand slammed against the door.
“What the hell is happening in there, human?”
Snorting under my breath, I didn’t even want to acknowledge why he continued to call me human. Somehow, and I really didn’t know how, I had some sort of mythological creature attached to me. One that was at least a thousand years old, lived in a cave, and was the tallest person I’d ever seen.
What the hell was he? A vampire? A demon? A gladiator with an attitude problem?
I wracked my brain for any other fantasy stories I knew, but came up blank. I had a secret obsession with indie stories because you never knew what you were going to get, but I stuck mostly with sports and high school romance. I lived for the drama. Sure as shit tonight, though, I was checking myself out some Viking fantasy.
“Are you a Viking?” I shouted, rinsing off the last of my soap, still humming loudly.
There was no reply, and if wasn’t for the tugging sensation on my body still, I might have thought he’d disappeared.
Turning the water off, I climbed out and wrapped a towel around myself, before brushing my teeth at the sink and then strolling over to open the door. Pulling it open, I gasped as I came face to face–okay, face to chest–with the dude. He had the fiercest, most pissed off look on his too gorgeous face, and I was trying to figure out what it was this time.
“If I could kill you, human, I would,” he said from between gritted teeth.
“What? What did I do now?”
He stepped into my personal space and I was suddenly very aware of the skimpy towel I wore. The only thing I wore.
“Your singing was the worst thing I have ever heard. And I’ve tortured people as a job.”
I gulped. “Well, that doesn’t sound like something you should put on your resume.”
He paused. “You are very odd, even for a human.”

Princess Ballot (Royals of Arbon Academy #1) by Jaymin Eve & Tate James

You have been chosen.
Those four words change Violet Spencer’s whole life, when against staggering odds, she’s selected in the “princess ballot.”
Arbon Academy is affectionately known as the school for Royals. Only the rich, powerful, or heir to a throne gain entry … except for the one scholarship student accepted every five years. It’s a worldwide lottery, and one that Violet entered without giving it any serious thought.
But the media got it wrong and Arbon Academy is much more than a simple college for future leaders.
It’s a dark world of politics, intrigue, and dangerous guys who will stop at nothing to get their own way. Despite her best efforts at remaining off the radar, Violet finds herself a pawn between two of the most powerful monarchies in the world.
Prince Rafe of the Switzerlands and Prince Alex of the Australasias are bitter enemies both on the soccer field and in the political arena. Monarchies rule the world now, and every waking breath is a competition for the princes.
Control the ball.
Control the world.
Control Violet.
Whether it’s through love or hate, someone will ultimately win.
*This is book one in a dark college romance. This is not a RH or traditional love triangle story, but it does include a-hole princes, nasty princesses, and one chick who will take none of their sh!t, all the while doing her best to make it out alive. HEA guaranteed. Eventually. 17+.

Brandon chuckled, in his creepy serial killer way. “Oh, love. You’ve got no idea. Arbon academy is nothing like the brochure. It’s brutal and cutthroat. We’re bred to scent blood and destroy the wounded. Frankly, you don’t stand a chance.” He crossed his arms and smirked. “I’m in the betting pool that you don’t last the first month.”
His gaze traced down my body, before rising to my face again. “Although, now that I’ve seen you in your trashy American flesh, I wouldn’t mind if you stuck around a bit longer. If you want to suck my d*ck, right here, like the good little whore you are, I might even keep you safe from the vultures.”
Oh my god. This guy had me grinding my teeth together. Not only were they betting on me before I even arrived, but he’d jumped right in with wanting me on my knees.
Fucker.
This was a test though, this moment with Brandon, and however I handled it, would probably set the tone for the rest of my time at the academy. I could not let them win. Not now. This was my ticket out.
“Okay,” I said casually, dropping my bag. I saw the surprise in his eyes. I took a step closer. “Whip this little d*ck out and I’ll spare you the half a minute I’m sure it’ll take.”
He blinked at me.
“Come on,” I pushed, “chop chop. D*cks don’t suck themselves, you know.”
**
Brandon is her student greeting party for the new school. As you can see, she’s in for a fun year. This is not a bully romance, it’s good old fashioned enemies to lovers, with back and forth banter. Violet takes none of their shit

Broken Legacy (Dark Legacy #3) by Tate James & Jaymin Eve

They’re my boys now – the four heirs of Delta. Together we’re a team … a family.

Five broken, brutal, possibly sociopathic people, and we are all that stands between the world and the powerful, corrupt Delta corporation.

We have no idea what we’re doing, but somehow we are determined to stop them. Permanently. We just need leverage … irrefutable evidence of their corruption.

And we need it now. Before the vote that will change everything.

Only there are a few other issues to deal with first. Dante in prison for murder, blood coated roses showing up on my doorstep, and my bio-mom reaching all new levels of insanity.

For the first time we might be completely out of our depth … but we won’t give up.

Not until the final battle is played out. Not until the war has been won.

*This dark contemporary romance features one girl and four sexy, dangerous boys but is NOT a reverse harem.*
Includes a sneak peek of chapter one of Princess Ballot.
