Broken Wings (Dark Legacy #1) by Tate James & Jaymin Eve
They rule my new town, my school, and with more money than God, there’s very little out of their reach.
Four gorgeous, perfect, scary boys. There used to be five, but one of them died, leaving a fifth position that I now fill.
I didn’t ask for this. I didn’t want to be part of this billionaire-boys-club. But no one cares about what I want.
Sebastian Beckett is the worst of them. Their leader. He draws me in, and strips me of every defense I have. He calls me Butterfly, but it’s not a pet name, it’s a threat. Beck wants nothing more than to break my wings, pin me to a board and watch me writhe.
He wants to see me broken. Body, heart and soul.
And what these elite want, they get.
Only they’ve never met Riley Jameson.
Let the battle begin.
*This dark contemporary romance features one girl and four sexy, dangerous boys but is NOT a reverse harem.*

I really have mixed feelings about this one. I think the authors wanted to make Riley the center of it all, that they make her judge everyone else for the things she is actually doing.
I feel like this is a typically bully, enemies to lovers romance that resembles the same as other trope related books, only this one isn’t reverse harem.
But, I do enjoy them and managed to read the book avoiding some things that bugged me. Things like their uniform, or cattish slut shaming vibes. Not to mention, boys with ages 17-20 with all these skills? I guess it would have made more sense if this was a paranormal series. Now, THAT would have been more intriguing.
I guess this is why I feel a bit disappointed, but the authors did a good job writing a book that fits its audience.
What I did love was that Riley was into racing and this was actually the thing that made me buy the book. The fact that she lost her whole family before she turned 18, and was returned to her birth mother made an interesting turn of events.
Suddenly, she is at a rich mansion, facing a Cruella alike biological mother, that wants to turn her into something she’s not. Of course, she rebels, and on her first night there, she ends up racing and losing.
It’s there she meets Sebastian and his crew. She makes an enemy out of him.
Beware of the cliffhanger!!
