Undercover Engagement (Private Pleasures Book 5) by Samanthe Beck

Both their careers hinge on convincing folks in tight-knit Bluelick, KY that he’s the love of her life. The Actress and the Aristocrat by Katie Ashley
Release Date: July 29th

Genre/Tropes: Fake Romance
Charlotte aka Charlie

For years, my acting career consisted of bit parts in forgettable Hallmark movies along with a few embarrassing commercials for feminine hygiene products. But then the fates finally aligned, and I’d been given my big-budget break: the lead in an Edwardian era social drama set on a sprawling estate in Sussex. Everything was going great until I discovered my costar and current flame was banging his way through the upstairs and downstairs of the cast. That’s when this Southern girl channeled her inner Scarlet O’Hara by hurling a vase at him. Turns out the owner of said vase, the infuriating Earl Whittingham, did give a damn about the priceless heirloom. Just as I was imagining a life of servitude to pay him back, he gave me an unorthodox proposal.

Randall “Rand” Halsey, Earl Whittingham

Being a member of the British aristocracy isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. As a matter of fact, it can be a royal pain in the ass, especially when it comes to the required social season. The only thing worse than having to attend all the myriad of events from horse races to garden shows is attending them single. Throw in the likelihood of running into my ex-wife with her new boy-toy and it’s bloody insufferable. I’d resigned myself to keeping a stiff upper lip while drowning my sorrows in Laguvulin for the month when an opportunity fell into my lap. Actually, it crashed into the wall of my drawing room. As an actress, Charlie is used to playing a part, but she’ll need to turn an Oscar-worthy one to prove she’s in love with me.

Faking it with my Frenemy (Faking It #3) by Melissa Schroeder

Part of the Melissa Schroeder Instalove Collection: Same World. Any Order. Individual Love.

Dealing with Theo Darling is possibly the worse job I’ve ever had in my life.

I get it. He’s a genius in the kitchen–and out of it from what I hear. The problem is, he knows it. He knows that he is an amazing chef. He knows that while I am the food and beverage manager, his family owns the resort. He has an ego bigger than any man I have ever met, and that includes my four older brothers. We’re opposites in every way.

I need order and he lives in chaos. I like to adhere to a strict schedule. Theo…does not. In any way. It’s amazing that we haven’t killed each other yet.

Except when those annoying brothers I mentioned blow into town with a friend they want me to date and Theo rescues me. Sure, we can pretend to be attached for just a couple days. And sure, pretending to kiss him feels a whole lot like real kisses.

And when he whispers my name against my skin…let’s just not go there.

Because, while my brothers will be out of my hair soon enough, I’m not sure I will ever forget what it felt like pretending to be Theo’s, even for just a few days.

Author Note: This tough as nails military brat heroine is about to have her world turned upside down. There’s inappropriate behavior at work, a chef who knows how to use his hands, bickering, and four older brothers who will irritate our heroine to no end. As always, there is a happily ever after for our hero and heroine. I just make them suffer a little to get it

Not Another Manwhore (Not Another Romance #1) by R.L. Kenderson

When her family pressures her to bring someone to her cousin’s wedding, he challenges her promise to swear off men forever.

As I’m an only child in, my mother wants me to get married … like, yesterday. But after my last two boyfriends cheated on me, I am done with dating, done with men, and done with romance. But I’d have better luck convincing my mom that the sky is green than getting her to understand I’m happy, being single.

Left with no other choice, I ask the biggest manwhore I know to be my date for a wedding weekend. He has just enough charm to make my family fall in love with him but not enough that I will. Too bad the bottom half of me doesn’t get the message.

But even if he gets my legs to open for him, he’ll never get my heart to do the same.

Faking it with my Brother’s Best Friend (Faking It #2) by Melissa Schroeder

Part of the Melissa Schroeder Instalove Collection. One world. Any order. Individual love.

I’ve been in love with Milo Darling for as long as I can remember.

He’s my brother’s best friend and would never be interested in a curvy girl like me. I’ve seen the women he’s dated in the past, and let’s just say they don’t look like me. I’ve come to terms with it…mainly.

When I hear my ex is going to be at a charity ball I have to attend, the natural thing is to ask Milo. He’s safe, and he’s a gentleman, and well, who wouldn’t want to spend the night with the most beautiful man ever created.

Only, he’s not looking at me like I’m just a friend, and when he kisses me on the dance floor, I lose every thought I have ever had in my life. And, yeah, maybe, I’m going to be okay with a one-night fling with the man of my dreams. Who can blame a girl for taking him up on his offer?

And that night? I will just say that it blows my world apart.

But I know as soon as the sun rises, this girl will have to put on her big girl pants and get on with my life. Because there is one thing I understand and that’s that girls like me don’t get happily ever afters with guys like him.
Author Note: These two might start out thinking it’s all fake, but well, you know how things go in the Instalove World. There’s hijinks, a trip to a drag queen brunch, Milo in a tux, and scene in front of a mirror that embarrassed this author. As always with an Instalove Collection book, low drama, lots of romance, and a happily ever after.

Small Town Pretender (Havenbrook Book 5) by Brighton Walsh

Asher McCoy can win over a sold-out crowd with a husky note and a strum of his guitar, but proving to a judge he’s responsible enough to gain custody of his niece and nephew? Not so easy. His big idea—a fake marriage. And who better to play his doting bride than his longtime best friend? He just needs to get her home first…

Natalie Haven couldn’t get away from her suffocating hometown fast enough. For years, she’s fluttered around the globe as a freelance photographer. And if that unconventional job pisses off her daddy? Well, all the better. But when her best friend sends out an S.O.S., she heads back to the one place she swore she’d never land.

Except a fake marriage means a not-so-fake living arrangement, including only one bed. Nat’s witnessed enough women fall for Asher’s charms, but she refuses to be one of them. Because permanence isn’t in her blood. Not even for him.

Excerpt Small Town Pretender by Brighton Walsh

While she obviously wasn’t oblivious to the fact that both of her closest friends were smoking hot dudes, she’d also never really seen them as sexual beings—not to her, anyway.
Or she hadn’t.
She didn’t know if it was because she’d spent the past six nights sharing a bed with Asher—and waking up pretzeled around him like he was her personal stuffed animal—or if it was the whole maybe-marriage thing that had sparked that part of her brain, but now she couldn’t not see it.
She could honestly say now she definitely understood the whole mysterious, broody musician vibe girls went crazy for.
“How long are you gonna stand there starin’ at me like a stalker?” he murmured without opening his eyes.
“Oh, I’m the stalker, but somehow you knew I was standin’ here, even with your eyes closed.”
“You might be small enough that I could fold you up and put you in my pocket, but you walk like you’ve got cement blocks tied around your ankles.”
With a laugh, she strode toward him and dropped down on the cushion at his side, shoving her elbow into his stomach and delighting in his grunt of surprise. “You deserved that. I walk just like I do everything else.”
“Yeah, like you don’t give a single fuck what anyone thinks.”
Daintily, Ash. I do all things daintily. But, please, tell me more about this favor you need from me…”
He chuckled and wrapped an arm around her, tugging her into his side. She snuggled in, notching herself perfectly under his arm, like that very space had a Nat-shaped cutout made just for her.
“My compliments aren’t winnin’ me any favors?” he said. “Is that what you’re sayin’?”
“What I’m sayin’ is that if you want something, you’d be better off gettin’ it with some chocolate and maybe a little wine instead of your smart mouth.”
He chuckled. “You love my smart mouth.”
“Not today I don’t.”
“Unconditional love—isn’t that what you promised me?”
“I didn’t promise you shit. I’m not your wi—“ Nat nearly choked on the word, remembering too late exactly the size and shape of the elephant in the room. The one they’d been avoiding all day. “Speakin’ of, we should probably talk about that.“
“Yeah… Look, Nattie, I know I’m askin’ a lot. This would be…” He blew out a breath, the move ruffling her hair. “You know I wouldn’t have asked if I had any other options.”
“So I’m your last resort then? Good to know.”
“You’re my every resort,” he said without hesitation, earnestness in his tone.

The Offer (London Players Book 1) by Becca Steele

One offer. A few fake dates. What could possibly go wrong?

All I have to do is pose as the girlfriend of London Hawks player Jake Savage. The bad boy of rugby, he has a reputation both on and off the pitch.
Neither of us are interested in a relationship, so our arrangement is perfect. We just have to go on a few dates and pretend to be into each other while we’re photographed for the tabloids.
We’re not attracted to each other, so it should be easy.
Or so I thought.

After one hot night, things change.

Now, when he kisses me, it doesn’t feel like we’re pretending anymore.

The Offer is a standalone, fake relationship sports romance novella.

*Originally published within the Love Is In the Air anthology. This novella edition has been revised and expanded.

Just a quick read in an afternoon turned out to be a great read… Usually I read during the night, so I don’t know if it was daylight or the fact that I’ve read this book in a couple of hours.

It can be read as a standalone and it’s a fake relationship between a rugby star and a young woman who had a failed marriage, especially one where she found her newly husband with someone else on what was supposed to be their wedding night.

I connected with the characters, the back and forth was great. Lots of happy moments, sexy times. Jake Savage makes his name be pretty explanatory and Victoria is one who can keep up with him. She is perfect for him in ways he didn’t expect.

The story was sweet, fun and an easy read for me.

This book made me want to read the other couple’s stories so you can read it as a standalone too.

Lately I’ve been reading based on tropes and not by series.

Unforgettable (Vino & Veritas #16) by Marley Valentine

One night with Reeve Hale wasn’t enough. I knew it when I kissed him, I knew it when I slept with him, and I was certain of it when I walked out of his motel room the very next day.

So when the shy, gorgeous man is introduced as our newest employee at Vino and Veritas, I can’t help but conjure up all the ridiculous ways to convince him to repeat that unforgettable night. Like asking him to be my fake boyfriend at my sister’s upcoming wedding.

Only, I didn’t expect him to say yes.

Playing pretend shouldn’t feel this real. Especially when Reeve is planning on leaving Vermont after the summer.

We agreed to one night. We negotiated a fake relationship. But I’m the one who broke our terms. I wasn’t supposed to fall in love and he was never supposed to be so unforgettable.

Endgame by Susan Pierce (The Driven World)

International Bestselling Author Susan Pierce brings a sexy and suspenseful enemies-to-lovers romance to K. Bromberg’s Driven World.

I’m his Endgame. But winning me over is just the beginning…

What happens when your one-night stand ends up being the man you’re asked to write an exposé about to save your floundering career? You woman up and write it, that’s what. Afterall, I haven’t seen Jake Mitchell, Nascar’s racing prince and America’s notorious playboy, since the morning he left without saying goodbye.

I owe him nothing.

So, why I think it’s a stellar idea to give him a heads up that his rich and powerful family is about to be taken down by the hands of…well, me, I don’t have a clue, though it feels a lot like closure.

Except…he doesn’t remember me. And invites me down to his parents’ southern estate to get to know the people I’m exposing. As his fake girlfriend.

Ouch.

He knows my curious little journalistic heart won’t be able to refuse an inside look. And that I can barely manage to keep my wits about me when he’s around, so I do the only sensible thing someone in my position would do:

I take him up on his offer.

But when the walls filled with secrets and dark, forgotten things start closing in, along with Jake and his all-consuming, maddening sexual voodoo, I realize maybe this trip was more than just an inside look at the Mitchell family and their home–it was either about winning me over…or keeping me silent, so their racing empire doesn’t come crumbling to the ground.
Now I have to figure out how to untangle myself from their web, and somehow escape with my heart, before I find myself dead and buried…

Along with the rest of the secrets from their past.

Fans of K. Bromberg’s Then You Happened and The Driven Series will devour this standalone enemies-to-lovers, fake relationship romance.

While You Were Texting (Digital Dating Book 2) by Marika Ray

Lincoln Cunningham doesn’t do relationships. Mostly because he learned in college that he doesn’t do them well. Translation: book smart guys focused on learning the art and science of vineyard tending aren’t always girl smart, and the humiliation that comes from being the only one invested in the relationship, well, that’s enough for him.

Lincoln’s mother, however, isn’t so sure. Her oldest son found his match, and now her sights are set on Linc. Why she insists on setting him up at the Paint it Pal pottery shop is beyond anyone’s grasp.

Hannah Delacourt never dreamed of a life spent handing customers ceramic monkeys and pots of paint and explaining the inner workings of a kiln. But she also never intended to spend a year trying to figure out whether the vineyard she inherited should be sold or might actually produce wine.

When the same cute guy comes in to paint on date after miserable date, she figures out what’s going on pretty quickly. He slips her an SOS and she texts him to help him out of the latest painful date. When he texts later to thank her, they hatch the perfect scheme.

She’ll pretend to be his girlfriend while he helps her figure out if her grapes are worth keeping. Everyone wins, right? But what happens when you fall in love when you’re texting with your fake boyfriend? Worse yet, what do you do when he’s clueless?

From two USA Today bestselling authors, a RomCom so sweet you’ll want to hug your kindle and never look at texting the same way.

Mama’s Boy (Last Man Standing Book 1) by Avery Flynn

Top three lies about mama’s boys:

1. That we don’t know what we want. That one is straight up BS. I know exactly what I want—to win this bet with my cousins by any means necessary even if it means finding the worst possible date in all of Harbor City and agreeing to whatever she asks in exchange for her pretending to fall for me.

2. That we are soft, little wimps. Yeah, you don’t get to be CEO of a multibillion dollar company by letting other people take advantage of you. So as soon as I realize my date Fiona Hartigan isn’t exactly who she appears to be, there’s nothing that will stop me from figuring out the truth—no matter how many dates it takes to unravel that mystery.

3. That we don’t know how to kiss. Oh yes we do. The only problem is that once I start kissing Fiona, I don’t want to stop and I have to because we’ve already agreed that all of this is temporary.

Now I’m the guy that every woman wants to bring home to mom—except for the woman I’m fake dating and falling in love with for real.
