Make Me (Sterling Shore #10) by C.M. Owens

DALE

I’m a mature and very pragmatic person, whom others like to call boring.

At least I was…until Harley came back into town…

What do you do when a girl comes back for some petty revenge against you and seduction is part of her game?

You pretend to be a millionaire dom, of course.

Yeah…it sounded better in theory. My execution keeps ending up in awkward messes, and this game between us gets even messier when I learn more about Harley. She’s easy to fall for, even though she’s hazardous as hell.

What happens when all the games end?

HARLEY

One simple little goal turns into one giant disaster.

On the surface, Dale Sterling seemed like an a*****e from my past; the typical arrogant guy who boulders through life and anyone in his way. So a little revenge seemed plausible, considering what he did to me once upon a long time ago. In hindsight, it was immature. But revenge has kept me on top of the world since I stopped being on the bottom of everyone’s shoes, so I make no apologies for my immaturity.

But Dale is weirdly kinky…

Everything is going fine…until it gets real. Now the guy I wanted to humiliate is the same guy I’m begging my heart not to stupidly fall in love with.

Unfortunately, my heart tends to be stubborn.

DALE

“I don’t have any idea how to use all this stuff,” I whisper-yell, and they both turn to look at me like I’ve sprouted a second head.

My cousins are loading down baskets full of somewhat complicated, kinky shit, yet I’m the one who is an idiot for not knowing how to use it.

Unbelievable.

I should have gone to Rye and Brin.

“You don’t actually use it,” Maverick says, his smile turning mocking.

“You kinky bastard,” Corbin adds, goading me with his own taunting smile.

I’m going to kill them both.

“Then why are we buying it?” I growl.

They exchange a horrified look mixed with fascination before doubling over, laughing harder and drawing too much attention our way.

“You really are a kinky little shit, aren’t you?” Maverick asks through his guffaws. “You wanted to use this stuff?”

Dead. They’re both dead.

“It’s always the quiet ones,” Corbin says, too damn amused for his own good.

Excerpt Identical Disaster (Sterling Shore #8) by C.M. Owens
©️ CM Owens

(Bolivia) Bo –

I let him pull me up, and I don’t protest when he laces our fingers together.
“Your dad says there’s a private cove somewhere around here. Feel like a little fun?” he asks, bouncing his eyebrows suggestively.
Pretty sure my feet turn into lead, because they stop moving, and I fall. Face first. Into the sand.
Told you I suck at life.
“Shit!” Jax says around a laugh, losing his grip on my hand as I slowly raise up, seeing sand on the ends of my eyelashes and tasting the grit of it on my lips.
“You okay, babygirl?” Dad calls from down the beach. I turn to see the asshole grinning at me knowingly.
Some fathers want to pinch off a guy’s head off for screwing their daughters. My dad made jokes like he would, but then he tells Jax about the sex cove. That’s what Bora has always called it.
My dad is the kind of dad who is loving the hell out of the fact I’m pretending to be the reckless, sexy Bora, when… Hell, I can’t even remember the last time I had sex.
Jax hauls me back to my feet and back to my current situation, and I glare daggers at my smiling father.
“You okay?” Jax asks, still chuckling while wiping some of the sand off my face.
“I can’t swim,” I blurt out randomly.
“Yes you can,” he says, confused. “We swam at my gym’s pool… Remember? It was the one and only time you’ve come to the gym.”
He arches a brow, and I clear my throat. “I mean I can’t swim today.”
See? I suck at being deceptive. And improv is so not my strong suit.
“Why?” he asks slowly, looking at me like the sand has somehow made me lose IQ points.
“Because… Sharks!”
Yeah… Said that too loudly.
Mrs. Marshall starts screaming, “Where?! Sharks! Where?”
Freaking eh.

One would think that if Dale is the one everybody thought he’s the responsible one, the adult within the circle and that he thinks before he acts, well… this book is his, and it will prove you wrong.

This story is based on the events that happened before prom, when Rain found out about her medical problem, and the guys ditched their dates. Harley was supposed to be Dale’s date, but that turned her into a target for more bullying.

Fast forward years later, she comes back for revenge. Revenge on the girls that humiliated her, the guy that broke her heart and her family that rejected her and also took her inheritance.

Now, she’s the queen of the nerds and her revenge tastes sweet. Only, Dale proves he was different than the boy she hated for what he did. This man is everything she yearns for, and she needs him more than she realizes.

In this book we learn more about Britt, who quickly becomes an asset for Hayley’s company, proving that Britt belongs with the nerds.

Even if you might think Dale is the silent one, the mature one, he’s in over his head with Harley.

I think Bella’ story was one of the ones I really enjoyed! She is hilarious on her own, without too much trouble! We have seen parts of her character since A Redo, the book where Allie meets Wren, her baby daddy.

Bella has managed to become on of the circle and she has earned her spot by being loyal, funny and perfectly toxic for Ethan Noles.

Ethan returns to Sterling Shore after managing his father’s company for 10 years. He wants to live again and relive his youth, since partying was out of reach between working all the time. His party turns him into the E.R. where he meets Bella.

I love how he became a little obsessed with her before knowing she was part of his circle of friends and how he gets jealous when somebody talks about her.

This series is becoming better and better, so it would be a tragedy to ask me what my favorite one is. Truly a tragedy.

When I need a good book, I always return to the Sterling Shore series to get me out from this book phase. It’s hilarious and CM Owens blows my mind with how brilliant she is.

It’s funny how I always laugh out loud every time, even if I know what it’s all about. It’s like watching Friends, the TV show, and still think it’s funny. This week I was telling my sister-in-law how she MUST read this series and I got excited for 10 minutes straight.

We already know most of the guys, we get glimpse of Corbin and Ruby from previous books, but now… Now, we get to meet them properly.

Ruby Kross is one bad-ass woman who was dealt with a bad hand but managed to get out stronger! Her mother used to take advantage on her nut allergies and get her admitted in the hospital, struggling for her life most of the time! Luckily, her father managed to take her away.

Corbin and Ruby tried 3 times to date, but every time something happened, so they made rules about their friendship and how their Triple Dare game works.

What I love most about this series is that while we focus on the main characters, we get side story glimpses on the rest of the guys!

Next in line is Identical Disaster, which is Bo’s story, Ruby’s best friend. She will become stranded with one hot Jax Marshall.

Identical Disaster is Bo’s story, Ruby’s best friend. She will become stranded with a hot Jax Marshall in Hawaii.

She is there to break up with Jax on behalf of her selfish twin sister and ends up in Hawaii with Jax and his family. This book was so much fun!

Away from Sterling Shore we get a glimpse of 2 side characters we’ve seen along the way! I love how CM Owens manages to bring a little of the gang here and there.

There are no words to express how much I enjoy this series! It has shaped my views on hilarious romance books I want to read and has set the bar way, way higher!

Bo is very unique and manages to turn the table on how people view her opposed to her twin. They are so different and Jax is about to find out. What is more interesting is that we get to learn about her at the same time Jax does.

Next in line is Bella and Ethan’s story, which is more than you want right now, so grab it! We finally get the answer on why her phone is acting so crazy!

Paint It All Red (Mindf*ck Series Book 5) by S.T. Abby

Hush, little baby, don’t say a word…

Will Logan choose them? Or will we watch them burn together?

It’s time to fuck with their minds.
It’s time to finish it all.
It’s time to paint it all red…

Monsters don’t usually wish for happily-ever-afters.

There is no secret that CM Owens, AKA S.T. Abby AKA Kristy Cunning, is one of my favorite authors out there. It is so set up in my mind, that honestly, I think whatever she writes will blow my mind.
This book has the perfect ending, one you did not think you’d want until you read the last page!

Brilliant! Everything is brilliant! Justice is being served, Logan can’t deny his feeling for Lana and this book is all about her. She will be the main focus on this one, because Logan is forced to get out of that awful town.

I love how Jake makes everyone see what is going on. The bad people will pay their price for what they have done, but there will be also a price Logan has to pay when he decides what his future is.

It seems Logan and Lana will have their happy ending, but I won’t spoil all the fun with sharing the details!

All The Lies (Mindf*ck Series Book 4) by S.T. Abby

To understand the monsters in the world, you have to get inside their heads. It’s a dangerous place to be, especially when you start to empathize and lose your own sense of morality.

But that’s never happened to me…

I’ve never felt conflicted on any case. Right is right and wrong is wrong. It’s simple. Black and white. There’s no such thing as a gray area.

But fuck this case. I don’t even know what side I’m on anymore. I don’t understand how this town can continue to function without breaking under the weight of all the lies they’ve spun and lived.

Every time I find a shard of truth, my gut twists, my heart beats faster, and I hate this place a little more. Every time I think I’ve heard the worst, another truth is dug up from the ashes of more burning lies.

Worst of all, I don’t even know who to trust anymore. My head is all messed up.

I pride myself on being impossible to fool.
I’m an expert at knowing when someone is lying to me.
I never believed in being blinded by love…until Lana.

Book 4 and here we are, unsure of what the hell happened. This is where most of your answers come along and you are team Lana all the way!

The suspense is built just right, and everything unravels at the perfect moment.

This series will be forever with me on my favorite list, because you just cannot overlook it!

The scene moves to Lana’s hometown, Delaney Grove, where shit hits the fan! I mean, we know how twisted her past was, but seriously, she’s too kind for that world!

I enjoyed how Leonard figured things out and his suspicious about it as he keeps it a secret, while asking Logan questions to find out what might happen in the end. Even though we know it, we don’t expect that ending, and how he reacts to finding out who Lana really is!

Yes, this is the book where Logan finds out, but I won’t spoil any details on this! Grab the books, it’s worth it!

Scarlet Angel (Mindf*ck Series Book 3) by S.T. Abby

To kill a monster, you have to be twice as monstrous. To love a monster, you have to share your soul…

Logan Bennett makes me want to have a future not tainted by the constant hunger for revenge. Doesn’t mean I can stop. Doesn’t mean I want to stop. It just means I want more…one day.

But how do you make a good man love the monster inside you without stripping his soul away as well? He is all the best parts of me right now, resurrecting bits of my heart I forgot could even exist.

He makes me feel something other than cold.

He also thinks I’m weak and fragile. Something I laugh about to myself, while secretly soaking in all his protectiveness and concern.

If anyone touches him, harms him, or even threatens him, then they should probably run. Because his girlfriend is a little bit crazy. They just don’t know it yet.

**BE WARNED: Some of the flashbacks in this one do get a lot more intense and detailed than the ones prior to this book. Anyone with sensitive triggers should skip the flashbacks.

Holy Hell, sweet whatever you want… this book is becoming an addiction for me! How in the hell I spent all this time not reading it! Let’s rephrase: How in the hell I spent so much time not DEVOURING this series!

If you’re into dark and twisted, this one’s for you!

Not a second of this book gets a boring moment to it. The ending of book 2 has been quite a shock! What does it mean for Hadley and her knowing that she is a killer? I love how protective she is with Logan’s team and how she made justice for Hadley.

You will face a battle with yourself between what Logan sees as justice or how Lana takes it into her own hands.

The writing is flawless, the characters are so well put into play, that you just can put these books down!

I have a few authors I love, and I always end up reading their books really painfully slow, so I can enjoy it longer!

Beware, after starting this book, the world Logan knows will become darker and darker. More secrets come to light and the pieces start to come together.

Sidetracked (Mindf*ck Series Book 2) by S.T. Abby

They always want to break me, but I’m too strong now. Untouchable.
Or at least I was…until her.

****
LOGAN

I’ve had tunnel vision for one main goal for so long, that I forgot there was a whole other world just outside. Until Lana.

She’s everything I never expected, and I love the fact I can never guess her every move or reaction. It’s part of the reason I keep falling. But I also know she shuts me out, hides things from me she feels she can’t share.

One day, I hope she trusts me enough to share.

It isn’t until my job puts her at risk that I realize just how fierce she is, but it doesn’t stop me from doing all I can to protect her. I should walk away to protect her better, but I can’t. Instead, I’m forced to find other ways to keep her safe.

I just hope it’s enough.

Though she is fierce, she’s still fragile…

Right?

Sidetracked is the second book from the Mindf*ck Series which goes on to become better and better. I finished the whole series in one sitting, because I knew I had to have a day off for it, without anyone to bother me.

I took my time reading this and I was not disappointed. Lana is quickly becoming my dark FMC and Logan, oh Logan… I can’t wait to unravel all the secrets and see how this story will end. That’s the thing with this author, you never see it coming!

While they try to find time to spend with each other, there’s another serial killer who becomes a problem for Logan, while trying to target his weakness, Lana. The best part is that she’s not a damsel in distress as everyone thinks she is. Worst part is that Hadley is there to witness everything. I don’t get into spoilers; this is just to pique your interest and see for yourself what this will mean for Lana.

Again, there’s cliffhangers on every book, because why not! I am so addicted to this series, it’s no joke!

It’s hard to learn all the dark into Lana’s past and what they did to her and her family.

Please, for your own good, if you like dark and twisted romance, do not overlook this series.

The Risk (Mindf*ck Series #1) by S.T. Abby

They took too much.
Left too little.
I had nothing to lose…until him.
*****************
~Lana~
I didn’t expect him.
I didn’t want to fall in love.
But I can’t let him go.
Logan Bennett makes the world a safer place.
He’s brilliant.
He’s a hero.
He locks away the sick and depraved.
But while he’s saving lives, I’m taking them. Collecting the debts that are owed to me.
Ten years ago, they took from me. They left me for dead.
They should have made sure I stayed dead.
Now I’m taking from them.
One name at a time.
I’ve trained for too long.
I’ve been patient.
I can’t stop now.
Revenge is best served cold…
They never see me coming, until I paint their walls red.
Logan doesn’t know how they hurt me. He doesn’t know about the screams they ignored. He doesn’t know how twisted that town really is.
He just knows people are dying.
He doesn’t know he’s in love with their killer.
No one suspects a dead girl.
And Logan doesn’t suspect the girl in his bed.
They’re looking for a monster.
Not a girl who loves red.
Not a girl in love.
I’m a faceless nightmare.
At least until I tell them the story they’ve pretended never happened.
But in the end, will Logan choose them? Or will we watch them burn together?

There is no secret that CM Owens, AKA S.T. Abby AKA Kristy Cunning, is one of my favorite authors out there. It is so set up in my mind, that honestly, I think whatever she writes will blow my mind.

I had so much difficulty starting this series, because every single time I opened it, something came up and I got derailed days, weeks, until I tried again, and the same thing happen. Finally, today I finished quickly The Risk and I looooove it, of course.

If there are people who did not start this one, please do. It’s dark and twisted, but you have the Wild Ones Series or The Sterling Shore Series to recover.

Lana Myers aka a girl with a past and a vengeance with a list, has her work all lined up. 10 years of planning and training for this. Everything goes perfect, except she meets Logan at the wrong time. A coincidence or not, he is a profiler with the FBI. He is also the one who profiles her murders.

This is all I need to say to keep your interest up but beware of the cliffhanger! It’s unexpected, in typical CM ways! Make sure you have time to read it all, before you start!

CM Owens’ books are like desert to me. I love her writing so much that even if I want to devour her books, I keep reading them slowly, so I can enjoy them more.

The Daughters trilogy was one of her earliest series and I am happy to see how her characteristics are better now, and funnier. She is one funny lady.

Daughter of Aphrodite is the first book from the series, and we learn how Aphrodisia has become immortal. She meets Devin in a bar in New York and her world turns upside down.

It’s exciting to see and learn how she becomes a badass goddess while learning to control her powers. And Devin will be by her side every step of the way.

Since Devin’s family is already been chased by enemies, they target her as well. Unfortunately, the books ends with a major bum and cliffhanger so be sure to have the second book ready.

As I have said and will say many, many times, I love CM Owens’ books. She is one of my favorite authors and continues to blow my mind every single time.

Daughter of Asteria is the second book of the Daughters Trilogy and things happen all over again. As we know from the previous book, Adisia has managed to become too powerful and her powers will consume the world. But, like a super goddess, she manages to rewind time.

So, this is yet again, a new book but slightly different. And since only Adisia can remember her doing, she wishes to change the outcome.

It was mind-blowing to see how things happen all over again. We already know each character but now the enemies are in the dark.

I love how every time Adisia can impress everyone as she develops her powers, and it frustrated me how long it took for her to become immortal again.

The ending gives us more of the things that were prophesied and how she is the main target for the war that will come.

Daughter of Kaos (The Daughter Trilogy Book 3) BLURB:

Just when they think it’s okay to be happy, fate’s cruel sense of humor strikes again, stripping them of their right. Adisia and Devin find themselves in a place where they’ve never been before, and all of Adisia’s crippling insecurities hit her harder than ever when her faith in the man she loves is lost… possibly gone forever. But Devin is one to never lose the girl he loves more than life itself, and he’s determined to find a way to prove it was never his choice to hurt her. While death lurks, betrayal sings, and the life of immortals proves to be all the more entangled.

Title: Daughter of Kaos
Author: CM Owens
Publication Date: October 26th, 2013
Shelves: Romance; Fantasy;
Format: Kindle (393 pages)
Rating: 10/10

This 3rd book was the perfect ending of the series. Even though I have Adisia being so insecure, especially for a daughter of Aphrodite, but that is only made to build up her character and compliment the plot. The entire trilogy is based on these immortals and what Gods and Goddesses they act.

We already know from the 2nd book that the plot of the story is much bigger than anticipated. There is a wicked old witch who will help the real enemy, Rhea, to try and win, but Adisia is one girl nobody shall underestimate.

CM Owens did a great job with the plot twists and all her character development, that I really enjoyed this trilogy. Her books never disappoint.

Devin is struggling to find out why he did what he did, because he cannot live without her. The fact that he is always surrounded by an Ex is so annoying! I mean, we get it, he’s old, but damn boy!

I anticipated her being pregnant from the beginning, but the fact that you anticipate it does not do any justice on how the author uses you against you. Every single thing you know, it has a hidden meaning ready to impress. This is one signature I really love about CM Owens on all her books.

If you want to really go crazy on your theories war, check out her Kristy Cunning Pen name and see her Reverse Harem stories! They’re impressive.

Red Moon Secrets BLUBR:

Secrets are spilled, lies are revealed, and dark destinies emerge. She’s judged them all – now they’ll be the ones to judge her.

Alyssa is no longer seeing the gray area – she’s living in it. A destiny she never considered is consuming her. Everything ends, and it ends now – no matter what the outcome.

Rating: 8/10

Alyssa always knew she was too powerful for this world and she was hidden from the immortals as a result. The fact that she is prophesied to become the daughter who can destroy everything is something she refuses to believe. Especially when everyone tells her Gage is her destined one. She loves Kane.

Her confusing love between Kane and Gage kind of irked me, but there is a secret that Gage wants to contain.

I love how the heroine becomes a badass, but her struggle between black and white left me wanting for more. I felt at times that maybe Kane deserved a more honest partner. I would have wanted all the times when she revealed a new power to be with an audience.

The ending felt a little rushed, the final battle quicker to be finished since I had higher expectations. I still enjoyed the series and will continue to read the Deadly beauties live on since there will be individual books for each character we have come to know and love.

These books were written early on and let me tell you how much CM Owens has evolved. Now, her books leave you on the edge of your seat and crazy with mind-blowing theories. My reviews of her books will always be good because I just love her that much. It’s my personal target to read everything she has written.

Everything gets twisted, and she becomes stuck in the middle of an internal game of tug-of-war. Gage is there, but he’s just as much her enemy as a night stalker. How can she trust any of them?

Poison’s Kiss is the second book of the paranormal Trilogy Deadly Beauties by CM Owens.

After finally finding out what Kane is, since we tried to guess from book 1 Blood’s Fury, we know he is Alyssa’s enemy.

I enjoyed the story but found myself confused when she broke her bound with Kane, with Gage. They were not together, but I did not like her messing around with Gage. I know this will be a fact that will matter in the last book, but I don’t like my heroines to belong to another man. It came to the point where I really though she might be with the dark witch instead of Kane, and it bugged me.

When Kane and Alyssa find out someone wants them framed for some murders, they all start to work together.

Dark secrets reveal themselves among their group, but how strong is this prophecy they keep retelling? Is Gage really her destined lover?

Alyssa Coldwell decides to put her destiny as an immortal witch to the side, so she can take the chance to live like a normal girl amongst regular humans before she too is part of the fey world. She wants a break from magic and all the dangerous drama that comes with it, but life doesn’t always let you do as you please.

Magic is supposed to be simple – you’re either light or dark. But Alyssa is brutally awakened when she learns that life isn’t always so simple. There are gray areas, and there is more to being light than simply saying you are.

Though she knows she’ll have to leave him once her body turns immortal, she can’t help but fall for him.

What’s the problem with a witch loving a human? So, so many things. Her world is too dangerous, and her attempt to take a break from it fails miserably when her mother is taken captive. With danger always around her, she knows Kane will never be safe. But it’s too hard to let him go.

Kane’s not so fragile though, and he refuses to lose the only girl he’s ever really cared for. Secrets are a part of Alyssa’s life, but she’s not the only one with a locked vault full of unspoken truths. When the secrets come out, Alyssa loses all her faith, her will, and her hope.

Title: A Redo
Author: CM Owens
Publication Date: May 24th, 2015
Shelves: Contemporary; Romance;
Format: Kindle (320 pages)
Rating: 10/10

A Redo screams second chances Romance as soon as you see the title and the blurb. We’ve known Wren for a couple of books back, ever since Tagged & Ashed, so we have a background story of his life and failed marriage with Erica, his now ex-wife. Therefore, when we find out in Breaking Even that he just found out he’s a father to a baby girl named Angel, we might just brace ourselves for his spotlight story.

His baby mamma, Allie, has been raising their daughter for 6 years until she accidently found out his real name and tried to contact him.

I love how everybody gravitas among the new couples, and we find out more of the life of the Sterlings. This book is all about the journey Wren has while connecting and bonding with his daughter and her mother, eventually falling in love and starting a family.

Along Allie, comes Bella, a hilarious character that we want to bond as quickly as the Sterling will. She will have her own story in Perfectly Toxic with party boy Ethan Noles.

Sing, gypsies, sing of your lies…

That old song plays in my head, as the world turns around me faster than it has ever turned.

Monsters and mayhem. That’s become my life.

Fear and apprehension. That’s become the normal for those around me.

Dread and distraction. That’s what has interrupted my own personal romance story with my mon-star quad.

Vengeance and retribution. That was the theme of the monster world long before I landed in it, and it’s starting to heat up more than ever.

Jabs from a complicated, ancient past keep coming so much and so quickly that I’ve grown desensitized to them. Which is a good thing, since I’m about to need a thick skin.

I guess it’s time to see if I can handle being in the middle, because that’s where I’m about to put myself. My mother always did accuse me of being a masochist. I’m starting to think she must be right.

Either they love me, or they love her.

I suppose it’s time to find out who wins. I don’t fight pretty, and I’m not that great at smack talk.

It’s not that they’re not worth fighting for. I just don’t want to have to fight for them. Not when when I’m fighting bigger battles already. Either we’re in this together, or I’m on my own. That’s for them to decide on their own.

Let the games begin.

Title: Gypsy Rising
Author: Kristy Cunning (pen name for C.M. Owens)
Publication Date: April 13th, 2019
Shelves: Fictional; Romance; Reverse Harem;
Format: Kindle (343 pages)
Rating: 10/10

We have been expecting Gypsy Rising to be released for quite a while now, but Kristy Cunning (a.k.a C.M. Owens) has met the high expectations for this series. Gypsy Moon ended on a major cliffhanger; thus I was eager to get my hands on this book.

Violet is becoming everything we never knew we wanted her to become. I anticipated her to gather some entourage of her own in this book so I am truly happy she’s done that, but in a mind-blowing way that I will let you read the book to find out.

Idun shows up and starts to play her part, but I loved every minute of how Violet “plays” her game, because I start to think, even though she is a kind and oblivious person, she has a master mind no body expected her to have. Even the boys doubt she can be THAT calculated, since they never even sensed her plotting her plan.

There is a scene where she confronts Idun in a Violet way that had tears to my eyes while reading. It’s strange how beautifully sad it was, meanwhile, I was so proud of her by doing a sacrifice to prove a point.
The 6th book is being written as we speak, so there might be some time to wait for it, but I know it in my bones that it will be the ending they all deserve. I just want front row seats to it!
I love this series because it has a lot of secrets and twists that I don’t see coming, and makes me paranoid with questions and predictions of how things will turn up.
