Ruckus Royale (The Bedlam Boys Book 1) by Ruby Vincent

The town of Bedlam was born of rioters, revolt, pain, and murder.
Over a hundred years later, nothing has changed.

A shadow clings to our lives. Stalking, watching, waiting, taunting, and killing. And when it struck, I wasn’t ready.

I have to play their game now. Catch them, kill them, before Ruckus Royale or they’ll claim another sacrifice.

The trouble is a new band of outlaws are in charge, and Arsenio, Cairo, Jacques, Legend, and Roan don’t take well to people ruining their fun.

On the one night a year where anything goes, mayhem will sweep through the streets and the Kings of Ruckus will rule.

I have my orders. A life to save and a life to take.

And when my punishment comes for framing the Bedlam Boys, I’ll welcome it. I’ll let them bind me, chain me, and strip me of the sweet, innocent girl I never got to be.

Under their twisted, scorching love I will atone for the crimes paid and the ones still to come.

In the end, Bedlam will be brought to its knees to bow before its first queen.

Ruckus Royale is a dark contemporary reverse harem romance. This is the first book in The Bedlam Boys series. The release date will be brought forward.

Broken Princess by Aria Keen

My life is perfect.

Or, at least it was. Every moment of my life has been planned, flawless as a diamond. The pageants, the student council, the 4.2 grade average.

Then, everything changed. My father, the man I’ve idealized for my entire life, has been outed as one of the country’s worst serial killers.

My name is officially mud. No college will take me. My former friends have ostracized me.

It’s my turn to be hunted now.

People want revenge for their loved ones, and with my father out of the picture, I’m a convenient scape goat.

Dean, Bates, and Cole make it their mission to ensure I’m receiving the punishment they believe I deserve. But when things take a deadly turn, their hatred of me is put to the test as new emotions surface.

I am a broken princess, but I will succeed—unless they take my life first.

Broken Princess is a full-length, standalone, 18+ reverse harem novel. This book contains scenes that readers may find triggering including, but not limited to, scenes of bullying and violence.

The Destruction You Desire (Maddison Kings University #5) by Tracy Lorraine

After six years of living in denial, Luca is finally faced with the truth. A brutal discovery he refused to accept when I needed him most.

Now the vengeance he so desperately craves isn’t directed at me, but the monster responsible for destroying all our lives.

That might put us on the same side this time, but that doesn’t mean I can forgive him for not believing me. Or for hating me when I loved him.

Just when I think the darkness couldn’t drag us down any further, it threatens to swallow me whole.

Only this time Luca is right there beside me, reminding me how things used to be… fighting for me. Begging for my forgiveness.

Something I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to give him.

Until he proves that the boy I fell for still exists, underneath the one who broke my heart.

And I begin to wonder if there ever was a question about our future.

Dear Reader,
The Destruction You Desire is the fifth book in my Maddison Kings University series and the second book in a duet for Peyton and Luca. It’s a dark bully romance that contains mature content and demanding alphaholes that some readers may find disturbing. You have been warned.

Excerpt The Destruction You Desire by Tracy Lorraine

Slamming the door behind me, I cut off the complaints of the others who are waiting and I flip the lock.

I take a step toward her and she takes a hesitant one back.

“W-what do you want, Luc?”

I consider her question for a few seconds.

“Honestly. I have no fucking clue.”

She gasps when she runs out of space behind her and bumps up against the wall.

“I-I’m sorry you found out like that. That wasn’t—” Her words are cut off when my hand flies out and pins her against the wall by her throat.

She swallows nervously, her body trembling as tears pool in her eyes.

“Stop,” I boom. “Just stop.”

My chest heaves as I stare at her almost cowering away from me.

I hold her wide eyes for a beat before I drop mine to her pink lips. They’re so full and I already know just how sweet they taste. Then I drop lower to her dress. It’s the first time I really get to look at her and fuck.

“You look…” Beautiful. I swallow down the word as the confusion I’ve battled with all day only gets stronger.

Hurt her.

Take her.

Punish her.

Make her yours.

“Tell me he didn’t touch you. Tell me he didn’t take what’s mine.”

Tryst Six Venom by Penelope Douglas

Away games, back seats, and the locker room after hours… Get ready!

CLAY

Marymount girls are good girls. We’re chaste, we’re untouched, and even if we weren’t, no one would know, because we keep our mouths shut.

Not that I have anything to share anyway. I never let guys go too far. I’m behaved.

Beautiful, smart, talented, popular, my skirt’s always pressed, and I never have a hair out of place. I own the hallways, walking tall on Monday and dropping to my knees like the good Catholic girl I am on Sunday.

That’s me. Always in control.

Or so they think. The truth is that it’s easy for me to resist them, because what I truly want, they can never be. Something soft and smooth. Someone dangerous and wild.

Unfortunately, what I want I have to hide. In the locker room after hours. In the bathroom stall between classes. In the showers after practice. My head swimming. My hand up her skirt.

For me, life is a web of secrets. No one can find out mine.

OLIVIA

I cross the tracks every day for one reason–to graduate from this school and get into the Ivy League. I’m not ashamed of where I come from, my family, or how everyone at Marymount thinks my skirts are too short and my lipstick is too red.

Clay Collins and her friends have always turned up their noses at me. The witch with her beautiful skin, clean shoes, and rich parents who torments me daily and thinks I won’t fight back.

At least not until I get her alone and find out she’s hiding so much more than just what’s underneath those pretty clothes.

The princess thinks I’ll scratch her itch. She thinks she’s still pure as long as it’s not a guy touching her.

I told her to stay on her side of town. I told her not to cross the tracks.

But one night, she did. And when I’m done with her, she’ll never be pure again.

*Tryst Six Venom is a standalone, F/F bully romance suitable for readers 18+.
Publication date : June 3, 2021

Hana’s Review

– LGBTQIA+ main characters/FF romance

– Dark Romance

– Bully Romance

I have been hearing and reading a lot of amazing things about Penelope Douglas books since I actively and avidly joined the online book community (bookstagram, booktok, etc.). Due to the ridiculous nature of my TBR, a few of her books have been on it but I hadn’t gotten to any…until Tryst Six Venom. Once I knew there was a FF storyline, I was hooked and excited and couldn’t wait to dive in.

I knew, going into this read, that this was a dark bully romance and, honestly, those are sometimes difficult for me. The “bully” aspect can be downright ROUGH and this book was no exception. There were moments that I wasn’t sure I would ever like some of these characters and I couldn’t imagine coming out the other end in love with their love… but I did. And I think it goes to show that this author can weave a story and emotions fluidly and effortlessly (seemingly lol).

I am always looking for FF romances that are full realized, that have characters with depth and conflict and that also weaves in the smut and sauce (without becoming a fetish) – and this hit all those marks.

Liv & Clay – the main characters – were complicated and difficult – their relationship was turbulent and harsh. Their words cut deep and their emotions came off the page and it hurt to read sometimes. But I didn’t want to stop. I love Liv – that badass, don’t-give-a-f*ck, loner type (that really does give a f*ck sometimes). She was beautiful and strong to read. Clay, on the other hand, I really couldn’t like at first. It took a lot for me to come around for her. Eventually, she comes through and you see her struggle to come out of the dark places and you start to vibe with her and with the two of them together.

The tension between them was delectable and fiery – the fighting, the f*cking – all of it. It was spicy and saucy – Douglas can really turn a scene and I am here for it!

A few cons, for me at least, was the lack of information on why they hate each other so much and I do wish there was a little more of a warning for some of the triggering homophobia/biphobia. However, all in all, this truly was an awesome read and I loved Liv and her family. Will her brother’s get stories?!?! Because they’re all pretty amazing and I would love to see this continue in a series about the rest of Liv’s family.

Things I Wanted To Say: (but never did) by Monica Murphy

Whit Lancaster burst into my life like a storm. Dark and thunderous, furious and fierce. Cold, heartless and devastatingly beautiful, like the statues in our prep school gardens. The school with his family name on the sign. He can do no wrong here. This is his domain.

He’s a menace on campus. Adored and feared. Hated and respected. His taunting words carve into my skin, shredding me to ribbons. Yet his intense gaze scorches my blood, fills me with a longing I don’t understand.

When I stumble upon him one night alone, I find him broken. Bleeding. My instincts scream to leave and let him suffer, but I can’t. I sneak him into my room. Clean him up. Fall for his lies. Let him possess every single part of me until I’m the one left a gasping, broken mess.

When he leaves me alone in the dead of night, he takes my journal with him.

Now he knows all my secrets. My hate. My truth. And he promises to use my words against me. I’ll be ruined if my darkest secret gets out.

That’s when I strike a bargain with the devil.

I’ll let Whit Lancaster ruin me behind closed doors instead.

Wicked Gods (Gifted Academy Book 1) by Michelle Hercules

Nowhere is safe when the gods are wicked.

Since the beginning of times, there have always been two sides: Norms and Idols.

But never have the scales been so unbalanced as they are today.

I’m a Norm, which means, I grew up in fear of the Idols and their godly powers.

And now, I’m going to be surrounded by them, day and night. I’ve been offered a place at the prestigious Gifted Academy, an opportunity very few Norms get.

To survive, I must become invisible. But my hope to get through the academy unscathed goes down the drain when the most powerful boys in school set their eyes on me.

They hate me simply because I’m a Norm. If they knew who I truly am, they’d tear me apart limb by limb. But I’m done cowering away from Idols. It’s time for the Norms to fight back, and it all starts with me.

*This story contains dark themes that may be triggering to some readers.

If you’ve read my info, by now you know I am 1/3 admin to a group that reads books from attending authors for B.A.B.E 2023. This book was chosen for June 2021 based on our polls we did in the group. If you want to join, here’s the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/194347085649142

To start this was a great read. If you’ve written the Curse of the Gods by Jaymin Eve, it has the same feel to it. We’ve discussed in our live commenting about these books and the catch to a good bully romance is to have a heroine with a bite. This is the case here and I’m happy to have read this one.

Daisy is a norm. That means she’s nowhere near as good as a fringe or as loved and feard as an idol. But that changes when she catches the eyes of 4 Idols: Rufio, Bryce, Morpheus and Phoenix.

The books starts with a bang, where we get a little bit of history when Idols killed her parents.

I loved many things about this book so I totally wish more people read them.

Beyond (Tory’s School for the Troubled Book 2) by Katie May

There’s one place scarier than hell.

And we’re in it.

There’s a series of tunnels beneath the school that we must travel through in order to escape Tory’s School for the Troubled.

But the world on the other side? It’s a land of nightmares and monsters. A place where your worst fears come to life. A world of darkness and pain and suffering.

In order to return home, I must confront and conquer my demons. And with the help of five arresting men, that might be possible.

Beau, my childhood best friend. He may not say much, but I know he’ll always have my back…even if he does break my heart.

Aiden, the cruel and vindictive ruler of the school who once blamed me for his sister’s disappearance. Now, he can’t decide if he wants to kiss me or choke me. The feeling’s mutual.

Tanner, the flirty, passionate man who sets my skin ablaze, despite cutting me down with acerbic quips.

Kace, the man who has two sides to him I yearn to uncover. Stoic and intense one second, and exuberant the next.

And finally Heath, the psychopathic class president with cold eyes and a fake smile. He knows more about where we are than anyone else, but can I handle uncovering all of his secrets?

Death admitted us to Tory’s School for the Troubled. Life might just be our only way out.

And for me and the psychotic men who now own my heart? It’s into hell’s depths we go.

This is book two of a horror/bully reverse harem romance. It contains strong language and sexual situations, as well as MM themes.

If you like your men a little broken and psychotic, your FMC a take-no-shit badass, and a plot that will leave you guessing until the very last page, then this is the book for you.

Freestyle (Academy of Stardom Book 1) by Bea Paige

From the gutter to the stars…

Dance is in my blood.
It’s what keeps me sane, out of trouble. It used to keep them out of trouble too.
A group of boys I grew up with.
Xeno, York, Zayn and Dax.
We were a crew once and we ruled the clubs.
Separate we were insanely good, together we were unbeatable. F*&ing on fire.
I was their girl and they were my Breakers.
Until they did something they promised they never would; break my heart.
We were seventeen when they left me.
You see, for kids like us, dance was all we had.
Growing up in a rundown housing estate in London with no prospects can make you view the world differently.
It can make you choose the wrong path.
I chose dance, and they chose crime.
Three years later I’ve won a scholarship to Stardom Academy. I try to forget my past.
But how can I do that when the four boys who hurt me are back?
And this time they’re following in my footsteps and joining the academy too.

**Freestyle is book one of this new gritty, contemporary reverse harem academy romance for 17+ readers and deals with adult themes and some subjects you may find upsetting. If you love dance, your men on the criminal side, alpha hot holes and the friends-to-enemies-to-lovers trope, this is for you. Contains foul language and sexual scenes and ends on a cliffhanger.**

I have been dying to read this series because I’ve heard so many good things about it.

I remember being a teen and watching all those movies about teenagers dancing and attending academy schools of dance and expressing themselves through it. This series is exactly that plus reverse harem and some dark-ish content.

Pen comes from a broken family and befriends the Breakers. Their world comes from a bad place where the threat of gangs looms above them, biding their time to drag the boys into the cruel world of it.

The first book introduces us into the story of how their friendship became more and how it also broke them all apart. 3 years ago something happened and not the boys (Xeno, Dax, Zayn and York) have come back to get what belongs to them.

You don’t get many answers from Freestyle, but it gets you hooked. Pen is broken but strong and she’ll face all that the guys make her go through.

Savage Little Lies (Court Legacy Book 2) by Eden O’Neill

Tiny.
Twisted.
Secrets.

The news about what happened to Dorian’s uncle rocks the town. Especially when a private school’s educator turns up dead. The focus surrounding the events that occurred that night shifts, and no one knows that more than the Legacy boys’ dark prince. Dorian’s looking for answers in the hours following the harrowing truths revealed in that video. We both are, and where we each end up finding them surprises no one more than me.

Rotten.
Little.
Lies.

When what’s lie and what’s truth suddenly appears indistinguishable, I find myself in a chillingly familiar place. One where the dark prince and I discover ourselves on opposite sides of the battle line. We once blurred that line, and he trusted me.

But can I trust him?

Warning: Savage Little Lies is a dark high school romance that contains dubious content and situations some may find triggering. It’s recommended for readers 18+ and is the second book in an all new series by Eden O’Neill titled Court Legacy. Savage Little Lies is not a standalone and does end in a cliff hanger.

Author’s Note: Court Legacy is a spin-off series about the children of characters featured in Eden O’Neill’s Court High and Court University series. It’s not necessary to read the previously released series in order to enjoy Court Legacy. This is a new series that can be read completely on its own.

Hana’s Review:

– 4 stars

– Dark/Bully Romance

– Enemies-to-Lovers

– Interracial Couple

– BiPOC main character/author

** spoiler alert ** There are trigger warnings in the beginning of this book for a reason. Please heed them! If you are not into dark bully romance, this won’t be for you. (And that’s ok!!)

But… if you do like dark bully romance, if – like me – you like your romance rough, then you need to read this book by Carmel Rhodes. It was my first book by her and now I want to read all her works.

We meet Truly at her high school graduation getting dumped by her boyfriend. The night only gets worse as she’s traumatized by her ex’s estranged brother, Noah. I will admit that I was angry and upset at how we meet Noah and I wasn’t sure how the story could progress in anyway. But that’s this trope for you (not that I think any of the actions are in anyway condonable in reality!!!).

Truly tries to move forward and sets off on a coming of age road trip with her bestie the next day. However, we find out that her bestie invited her bf and his friend – you guessed it, it’s Noah!!

Noah is all the broody possessiveness you can imagine. He’s sexy and rough and he pushes every boundary. He recognizes how wrong he was and tries to get out of his own way to make it up to Truly. However, you want to slap him around again and again because he really can’t get out of his own way completely. He’s so driven by his intense obsession with Truly and sometimes it’s scary but, for Truly, it feeds into the dark needs she has that she never knew existed until Noah.

Their connection progresses and because of Rhodes’ exceptional writing – you buy it. You get invested. You want this to work. You seem them grow and evolve as people, as young adults and as a couple and you hope that they can both find a way to make this work in the long run.

I love how strong Truly is. She sees that she’s coming into her own and she’s owning her evolving sexuality and nature She doesn’t let Noah completely run roughshod over her. She stands her ground when she has to and she makes sure he knows she’s not a doormat. I think it’s important when exploring these kinds of relationships – dominant and submissive, or consensual nonconcent themes – you have to realize that the power exchange is about trust and that both people are willingly, enthusiastically, participating. It only works when both individuals recognize each other’s strength and trust and communication are key.

You start to fall for Noah and Truly, together, in moments of vulnerability and you become enthralled with their story and you want to see them make it. Survive all of it.

The spice and steam in this book is off the charts – Carmel Rhodes set it on fire. If you like a well-written, smutty, boundary pushing, dark romance, bully romance, enemies-to-lovers vibe – pick this up ASAP.

Toxic Creek (The Allstars Series Book 1) by KC Kean

“It’s so nice when toxic people stop talking to you. It’s like the trash took itself out.”

I had everything I ever wanted until my life was flipped upside down. Now, I’m suddenly being forced to live in my parent’s hometown, with complete strangers. Like my heart isn’t broken enough. Could I fall any further?
Yes. Yes, I could.
Why might that be?
The Allstars. Xavier Knight, Hunter Asheville, and Tobias Holmes. Asheville High’s prestigious star football players.
They’re my worst nightmare. But damn – why do they have to be so mouth-wateringly hot? I mean I’m sure there is more to them, I can see it in their eyes, but I won’t be getting any closer to pinpoint what it is exactly.
They seem to think I’m breakable, but they obviously don’t know me at all. The Allstars have no idea of what I’m dealing with, and I’m not above biting back.
I’m here out of a promise to my mother, but this damn town screws with you. Knight’s Creek welcomes you in, with its picture-perfect neighborhoods, making you think it’s safe, quaint, and wholesome. But in reality, this toxic town seeps into your soul and tears you apart.
Now, I have no choice but to stay and piece myself back together. The second I graduate, I’m getting the hell out of here.
In theory, it sounds simple. Right?
Toxic Creek is the 92,000 word Book One in The Allstars Series, which is a contemporary, bully reverse harem. Some scenes may be classed as triggering to some, and with sexual scenes throughout it is recommended for those 17+. F/M/M/M steam, so for clarification, there will be NO MM, and Eden is everyone’s sole focus; if they get over their egos that is!

Lords of Wrath (Royals of Forsyth University #2) by Angel Lawson & Samantha Rue

They hurt me, abuse me, use me…

I signed up for it. Literally. I agreed to the contract that made me the Lords’ Lady, a position that requires me to do whatever they want, but only as protection from someone worse. I agreed to be in their beds, on my knees, and punished should I disobey.

I just wasn’t expecting punishment like this.

Killian is two-hundred-and-twenty pounds of muscle, brutal physicality, and pure spite. He thinks I don’t know that he watches me when I sleep.

Tristan is fair-haired and charming to anyone who doesn’t know better. To me, he’s the man who seeks to control me, with his cold eyes and possessiveness.

Rath is the dark-eyed tempest who took me into his bed. Even having been subjected to his barbed tongue, he’s the first man to ever make me feel safe.

I hadn’t realized how much they’ve worn me down and made me feel complacent, but it turns out they’ve messed with my head just as much as they abused my body. Despite the awful things they’ve done to me, they actually made me feel special. Cared for. Protected.

And then I found out it was all a lie.

The way Tristian cares, Killian’s vigilant eyes, and worst of all, my contented moments in Rath’s bed, were all part of a game.

A game to see who can use me best.

A game they’ve been playing since day one.

And now?

It’s a game I’m going to win.

WARNING: This book is a DARK/BULLY romance. It contains graphic content of abuse and assault that some readers may be particularly sensitive to. If you have triggers or are even remotely unsure, please heed the note at the beginning of this book.

Foes & Cons by Carrie Aarons

Sawyer Roarke was my best friend.

Growing up, our families were inseparable. We spent summers vacationing at the beach. In the school yard, it was us against the world. Then puberty hit, and we skated the thin line of staying buddies, or becoming more.

Until I accidentally found the pros and cons list he made about whether or not to date me. And there were definitely more bullet points on the no side. Acting out of rage and hurt, I embarrassed him in the most public way possible. Now, we’re enemies.

We’ve spent the last two years tearing each other to pieces. Everyone knows that Blair and Sawyer hate the ground the other walks on, and unfortunately, I got the unpopular end of the stick while he became Mr. Prom King.

Until senior year starts, and I’m tired of running scared. For the first time ever, I stand up to the golden boy with the whip-smart tongue. As the challenges and dares pick up speed, hearts start to fall and feelings get entangled. Despite my initial discovery, I wonder if being caught by each other wouldn’t be so bad.

Except Sawyer has no idea what I found all those years ago. And if the truth comes out about why I pitted us against each other, not only will he add one more con to his list … but he can add my broken heart as well.

Lords of Pain (Royals of Forsyth University #1) by Angel Lawson & Samantha Rue

I never claimed to be a good girl, but I definitely never asked for this.

Killian, Tristian, and Rath.

These three men are a part of my past–one that I’d rather never look in the eye again. In high school, they knew my secrets and I knew theirs. They had power and I had nothing. The night everything fell apart, my stepbrother allowed his two best friends to take their rage out on me while he watched. While they laughed.

But what happened that night wasn’t my biggest secret. So I ran, planning on never coming back.

Three years later I’m standing on their doorstep like a stray. They’re more powerful than ever now, having risen to the rank of Lords at Forsyth University. But I’m still on the run and there’s another monster chasing me down.

What could bring me back into their lives, their homes, and ultimately, their beds?

Fear.

Shame.

Desperation.

Killian, Rath, and Tristian aren’t the only ones who want me. There’s someone far more dangerous out there who’s been stalking me since I left town the first time. Someone who makes the evil I know feel less dangerous than the evil I don’t.

But being their Lady is more than just fancy clothes and reputation.

I might be under their protection, but I’m also at their mercy.

And there’s nothing a Lord loves more than taking control.

WARNING: This book is a DARK/BULLY romance. It contains graphic content of abuse and assault that some readers may be particularly sensitive to. If you have triggers or are even remotely unsure, please heed the note at the beginning of this book.

From USA Today bestselling author Tracy Lorraine comes a new dark bully college romance.

Scarlett Hunter could run…

But she couldn’t hide forever.

The beautiful girl who tempted me.
The heartless woman who broke me.

She might have got away, but I haven’t forgotten… or forgiven her.

And I never will.

Because piece by piece, she’s taken away everything I care about.

And for that she’ll pay.

When I claim my crown at Maddison Kings University, I’m going to make sure hers is tarnished.

Scarlett Hunter is about to experience the revenge of a Legend.

Dear Reader,
The Revenge You Seek is the first book in Letty and Kane’s trilogy. This book is a dark bully romance that contains mature content and demanding alphaholes that some readers may find disturbing. You have been warned.

Excerpt The Revenge You Seek by Tracy Lorraine

“I always knew you’d be so fucking sweet to ruin, Princess.”

“F*ck you. You won’t break me.”

“Says the one with tears still on her cheeks.” He reaches up and sweeps the wetness away that I didn’t realize was still there before sucking his thumb into his mouth, tasting my tears.

It’s weirdly erotic and intimate despite the fact he just had his head between my thighs.

“You taste like sin, trouble, and betrayal.”

“And you taste like a special brand of c*** but did you hear me f*cking complaining,” I pant, the crest of my orgasm just within touching distance.

I’m moving once again, Kane’s arm sweeps over all the items littering the desk before my bare chest is pressed against the cold wood.

I push to stand but his large palm presses down between my shoulder blades keeping me in place as he kicks my legs wider.
