Forget Me Not by Q.B. Tyler

What do you do when the love of your life forgets?
Not the good times.
Not the love.
Not the passion.
But the pain and heartbreak and betrayal.
He doesn’t remember that he broke my heart.
But I do.
He doesn’t remember the darkest parts of our marriage.
He doesn’t remember that six months ago, I said goodbye.
What do you do when the love of your life remembers your marriage but not your divorce?

Hana’s Review:

-4.5 stars

-second chance romance

-interracial couple

-BIPOC main character/author

This second chance romance is a first time read of QB Tyler for me. I received this book in a subscription box and was not disappointed.

I love a book that rips my heart out, stomps on it, mauls it and then patches it up and pats it back in your chest. I’m here for the emotional trauma. And this book dishes it out and serves it up like a Michelin-rated restaurant.

We are introduced to Olivia as she races to her soon-to-be ex-husbands bed side after a car accident. Turns out Bennet has lost the last two years – amnesia is wild!! So for Bennet, they’re still happily married and completely into each other. And you can see and feel his love and lust for his wife, it’s tangible. But Olivia is at a loss – they separated months ago, a divorce was impending. What to do?!

This was a read of two people finding their way back to each other after failing each other (and themselves). It wasn’t that they didn’t love each other… It was that love wasn’t enough without communicating and working through tragedy, grief, poor decisions, etc. The human experience, really. They learn to communicate and heal and find a path back to each other.

I loved how sexy and intense their relationship and connection was. My heart was broken alongside theirs when things sputtered and stalled. I cried when they did and I loved how they loved. This was beautifully written and I loved the spice.

Warning, there is cheating involved so if that’s a nonstarter for you, then this isn’t for you. But if you like a story of second chances, redemption, intense passion… I highly recommend it!

Psionic (The Conjurer Academy Book 2) by Mazzy J. March

My name is Mia, and I am so screwed.
I didn’t even know my name until I found it on a bracelet on my wrist, but in the past weeks at The Conjurer Academy I’ve learned more about myself—just not about my past. Where I came from and how and why I ended up on the railroad tracks in the middle of nowhere remains shrouded by the mists of amnesia. Or something like it.

Turns out, I got skills…or rather a skill
Everyone at the academy has magic. Well, everyone I’ve encountered in my classes so far. But for some reason, I don’t. Or none that I can access. Who am I kidding? I probably don’t. But I do have one ability the majority of the others don’t, and I gotta say… It kicks butt…hard.

And then there is psychometry
Something I’d never heard of but that seemed so familiar when we studied it in class. Of course, inanimate objects hold the feel of their owner can convey an array of information about whoever touched it last, or most often. It seemed a no-brainer to me, but when it was introduced, I seemed to be the only one in class who already knew how to read these things without even trying. Where did I learn that?

Oh yeah… Did I mention the guys here?
I ran into three of them. Icarus, Puck and Rad. And oh my gods, each of them is totally different and totally drool-worthy. I’m hoping I’ll get to know them better. Maybe go on a date and kiss one of them. Who knows? Maybe all three! Hey…a girl can dream, can’t she?

Conjurer Academy from Bestselling Authors Mazzy J. March and Jenna M. Jett, featuring a kickass but confused heroine who is completely out of her element in an academy where magic is the norm and up is down…or maybe sideways. It is a why-choose alternate universe, reverse harem romance with a slow burn build up to scorching heat. Relationships develop over the course of this supernatural series and, of course, Mazzy and Jenna guarantee an HEA.

30 Days: Part Two (Lost Love Trilogy Book 2) by Belle Brooks

“Life is not always as it seems, Abigail. It can be masked in many disguises.”

Memories are defined as the faculty by which the mind stores and remembers information.

What would you do if you learned your memories were incorrect? That they’d been obscured to hide a bitter truth? Is that even possible?

Abigail McMillian now knows it is, after a life she chose to forget—a life she chose to change—comes flooding back. Suffering from retrograde amnesia triggered by a fall, Abigail must try to piece together her real memories from the ones she’s fictionally created.

Face to face with Marcus again, the love of her life and the man she’s forgotten for seven years, Abigail’s left with one decision: remember the pain she chose to erase, or remain forever blissful in a fictitious world of her own creation.

Unless all is not what it seems.

Rejected by Birth (Mated in Silence #3) by Mazzy J. March

My lips are sealed…still
Until I met Dean, my mate, I lived all alone in a cabin in the woods, barely acknowledged by my pack. He taught me what it is to be loved, and I would gladly live happily ever after with him, but then Shane turned up. He’s also a mate, but while shifters often have more than one mate, Dean was raised human, and apparently not the kind that explores different kinds of relationships.

Dean left me
Not forever, I hope, but my wolf is very upset, and so am I. We miss him and hope that in spending time with the Midnight Alder pack, he’ll find what he needs to come back and be part of our family.
Now…how do I tell him about Creek? He’s my mate, too.
Add to my relationship quandaries the fact that the past I don’t remember seems to be coming to find me, and I’m not sure I’m ready to face it. I wasn’t always silent. It was caused by some huge trauma I can’t even remember. Or so I’m told.

Rejected by Blood is the third book in a paranormal reverse harem shifter series featuring a strong, feisty female wolf shifter who has forgotten her past and cannot speak and the three male wolf shifters who all want to be her fated mate. It is a why choose werewolf romance with a slow burn buildup sure to make your toes curl. Relationships develop over the course of this supernatural series and, of course, Mazzy guarantees an HEA

Rejected by Blood (Mated in Silence #2) by Mazzy J. March

My lips are sealed
Although I don’t know why. I cannot speak and, until I met Dean, lost in the woods and in the throes of his first shift, I spent every day alone in my ancient, broken down-shack, a pariah.
I never cared about speaking before.
Dean, my mate, changed all that. Through his hard work and ability to win over the pack members, he’s made both our lives so much better. I should want nothing more. I do want nothing more…
But there are two new pack members my wolf is heavily interested in. Not that multiple mates is that unusual, but I never even imagined I’d have one. Why would they be interested in me? And even if they were, Dean was raised by humans and isn’t used to our ways.
In fact, he seems disgusted by the thought.
And…the woods are suddenly filled with strangers who all seem interested in me. Why?
Rejected by Fate is the first book in a paranormal reverse harem shifter series featuring a strong, feisty female wolf shifter who has forgotten her past and cannot speak and the three male wolf shifters who all want to be her fated mate. Rejected by Fate (Mated in Silence #1) by Mazzy J. March

My lips are sealed about my past. Sealed so tightly that I haven’t spoken in since…well, I can’t even remember.

Life is simple for me. I forage for food. I do my duties by the pack even though they keep me at a distance like I’m contagious.

Then I find him, a rogue wolf in the forest. I can’t leave him there. He’s scared and alone. And it seems like he has never shifted before.

I should run, but the magnetic pull to him is undeniable.

The pack will have my head for this. Maybe it will be worth it.

Immortal Truths (An Angel and Her Demons Book 2) by Lacey Carter Andersen

They sought to silence me.

They wanted me as their tool.

Fortunately, they underestimated me.

I knew too much, so they took my memories away. But even without them, I’m a force to be reckoned with. Because our enemies might call themselves angels, but the devil knows better.

Well, maybe not the devil himself, but my demons sure as hell do.

With my three supernatural men at my side, we’ll do whatever it takes to make this world right again. Even if it means overthrowing the angels, and heaven itself, to restore the balance of all the realms.

Only, we’re not the ones who need to rule. The chosen immortals are. And they’ve been hidden away, so if we can’t find them in time, this war will be lost.

The clock is ticking, and the search is on…

MVP by Rachel Van Dyken

From #1 New York Times Bestselling Author Rachel Van Dyken comes a story about losing everything only to find it again…

I was the golden boy.
America’s Quarterback.
I was everything to everyone. Always available. Solid.
I can remember how something felt wrong that day.
And I haven’t been able to get that feeling to go away.
Not when I buried my child.
Not when my fiancé looked at me like I’d been the reason for it all.
Not when I look in the mirror and scream at the top of my lungs.

Football kept me sane.
But I’ve lost everything.
And then I got a phone call.
She was in an accident.
She remembered nothing.
A gentleman wouldn’t fight for her, wouldn’t remind her of the pain.
So, I let her go.
I let her live her happily ever after and I took all the darkness,
all the pain, all the anger.
Only, the universe had a sick sense of humor.
She bumped into me.
She pursued me.
The beautiful woman I used to call mine.
She said she wanted to make me smile.
She didn’t know she’s the reason I stopped.

Supernatural Lies (An Angel and Her Demons Book 1) by Lacey Carter Andersen

Someone burned my wings.

Tossed me down to earth.

And erased my memories.

I have no idea what I did to deserve this fate, but I do know that the only people standing beside me now are three handsome demons. Mark is sweet, and was never human, even before becoming a demon. Triston is the first demon gargoyle I’ve ever heard of. And Daniel? He’s dangerous, to me, and maybe even to himself.

Yet, there’s something between us I don’t understand.

They’ve sworn to protect me, but what if the enemies we face are more powerful than they could’ve ever imagined? And what if the only way we’ll ever be safe is to change both heaven and hell?

I might have been an angel, but I’m no angel now. And soon our enemies will realize that too.

Amnesia (Amnesia #1) by Cambria Hebert

I washed ashore in a little lake town.
A place where everyone knows everyone, yet…
No one knows me.
I don’t know me.
If a woman doesn’t know her own name, does she really exist?
I don’t know my natural hair color, my birthdate, or where I live.
I am invisible.
To everyone, to everything, even to myself.
Except to him.
I see the recognition deep in his stare, the way it lingers on my face as if I’m a puzzle he’s desperate to put together.
I just want answers, the truth… knowledge.
His lips are sealed. Still, his eyes beguile me.
I can’t trust anyone, not even myself. Someone wants me dead, the same someone who tried to bury me in a watery grave.
They’ll come for me again… I won’t know their face.
I don’t even know mine.
I am amnesia.

Excerpt Amnesia (Amnesia #1) by Cambria Hebert

Slivers of light pricked my eyelids, which up until this moment seemed far too heavy to lift. As I lay against something soft at my back, thought and awareness barely registered.
The gritty feeling as I struggled to raise my eyelids scraped and burned over my eyeballs as if warning me it wasn’t a good idea. Swallowing past the sandpaper in my throat, I stopped working and lay still. Cognizance slowly came forward in the form of something weighing me down and the echo of footsteps nearby.
Adrenaline jackknifed through me, and my body arched upward with the force of my gasp. The weight of whatever held me caused severe panic to fill me, and I began to fight against it.
“No!” I screamed, flailing about, trying to escape the binds. “Let me go!”
High-pitched beeping filled my ears, and the footsteps I’d heard grew more insistent and much closer.
He was coming!
“No!” I screamed.
Strong hands grabbed my arms and pinned me down. I tried to fight back, but they were much stronger than me. Kicking my legs, I tried to free them, but even more weight came down, holding them still until I was gasping for breath and ready to beg.
“Please!” I pleaded as wetness coated my cheeks. It made me realize the grittiness under my lids was rinsed away, and my eyes sprang open.
A man was leaning over me. He had graying hair and wore some kind of white shirt. The scream that ripped right out of me scared us both.
More hands and voices came out of nowhere, and I thrashed around again.
“Miss!” the man yelled. “Miss, calm down.”
“Get away from me!” I screamed again.
“Miss!” another voice yelled, a woman this time. Turning in her direction, I saw a pair of kind brown eyes staring at me. “We aren’t trying to hurt you.”
I calmed some, but the thundering of my heart made me feel as if I might spiral out of control. “You aren’t?”
“No.” The woman, who was also dressed in white, spoke. “You’re at a hospital. You were in an accident.”
“W-what?” I stammered, collapsing back against the bed, no longer straining against the binds.
“You’re at a hospital.”
“You’re trying to hold me down!” I accused.
“We don’t want you to hurt yourself.” the woman explained. The hands, even the man’s, remained.
“I don’t like it,” I admitted, recoiling.
The man straightened, stepping back. The nurse was slower to withdraw, but she did so after a few seconds.
“My legs,” I rasped. Suddenly, my throat hurt.
“It’s just the blankets.”
A quick glance down proved I was covered with blankets. Between suspicious glances at the people crowding my room (there were four), I gazed around, concluding I was in fact in a hospital.
“I don’t understand,” I admitted, all my weight pressing into the bed.
“It’s okay,” the man replied. He was a doctor, with a name badge and a stethoscope. “It’s completely normal and expected to be confused after the ordeal you’ve been through.”
“What ordeal?” I asked instantly, anxiety pressing in on my ribcage.
“We were hoping you could tell us,” the doctor said.
“What?” My brows furrowed.
The nurse leaned close, over the side of the bed. I noticed the railings were pulled up on each side. It made me feel as if I were in jail. Instantly, I hated it and began shoving at the bars, trying to push them down.
“Okay, hang on,” the nurse said and put the rails down. Once it was done, she pinned me with an insistent stare. “You have to stay still. You can’t thrash around. You’ll rip out your IV and reinjure yourself.”
“What happened to me?” I asked for what felt like the fifteenth time. I looked around at the four people in the room, hoping one of them would just spit it out.
The doctor motioned to two of the nurses and then quietly left the room.
I glanced back at the nurse. “Can you tell us your name?” she asked.
“My name?” I nodded once, then opened my mouth… only nothing came out.
Anxiety spiked in me again; I started to become agitated. “I… don’t know.”
“Calm down.” The nurse reminded me.
How dare she tell me to calm down? I couldn’t even remember my name.
Oh my God, I didn’t know my own name!
“I don’t remember!” I gasped, jerking up into a sitting position. “Why can’t I remember?”
Before I could fling the covers off and jump out of bed, the doctor was there, pinning me back down. “If you don’t calm down, we’ll have to sedate you. I don’t want to do that. You’ve been out long enough.”
I stilled. “How long?”
“A while.” The nurse hedged.
I ignored her. She was terrible with questions. “How long?” I demanded.
“A little over two months,” the doctor replied.
I gasped. “What’s my name?” I yelled.
I’d been here for two months and they were asking for my name? Shouldn’t they know it?
The doctor wasn’t looking at me; he was looking at the nurse, giving her a curt nod. She rushed out of the room.
“No!” I shouted. “No drugs! Please! Tell me my name. I just want to know my name.”
“You need to calm down. You’ve had a great deal of trauma, miss.”
I dropped back against the pillow, boneless. He called me miss. “You don’t know my name, do you?” I asked, meek.
Sensing all my energy was drained away, he moved back. A frown pulled at his lips. “You were brought in with no identification.” He began.
Fear unlike anything I’d ever felt wrapped around my heart and squeezed. I searched every corner of my mind for something. Anything.
There was nothing.
“I don’t remember…” I whispered.
The doctor seemed to soften. “I know this must be very scary, to wake up and be so disoriented.”
I laughed, but it wasn’t a humorous sound. I wished I were disoriented right then.
“You’ve been through a lot. Give it a few days. Now that you’re awake, your mind will catch up and you will remember.”
“I will?” I asked.
“There’s a good chance.”
Disappointment speared me. “If I don’t?”
“Let’s take it one day at a time.” He placated me.
“Easy for you to say. You know your name.”
A ghost of a smile appeared on his face. “Time.” He reminded me.
The nurse came through the door, holding a syringe, and I cringed away.
“I don’t think we’re going to need that,” the doctor told her.
I let out an audible sigh.
He glanced around again. “Now that you’re awake, I’ll get you down for testing.”
“What kind of testing?” I asked.
“Routine stuff for someone who’s been in a coma.”
Nothing about this was routine. I was in coma… for two months. And I didn’t even know my name.
When both the nurse and doctor were gone and I was alone, my eyes overflowed with tears and a formidable feeling of dread crowded inside me. The doctor said there was “a good chance” I would remember my name very soon.
The problem was it wasn’t just my name I needed to remember…
It was everything.

Take Me Away (Southern Bride Book 6) by Kelly Elliott

When I’m not a test pilot flying for the U.S. Air Force, I can be found risking my life in other ways.

Skydiving. No problem.

Bungee jumping off a bridge. Like a pro.

Paragliding in Switzerland. Time of my life.

Zorbing in New Zealand. Fun as hell.

You see…all these life-risking adventures are not just a hobby for me, not just a way to pass the time. I need the adrenaline rush like I need my next breath. I’m addicted to it. It’s the only thing that allows me to bury my painful past—even if only for as long as it takes for me to come down from the high. All that matters is that I’m able to forget. And every heart-stopping moment of it was working…at least, until she appeared back in my life.

Both my worst nightmare and my wildest dream all wrapped up in one beautiful woman…a woman I was still very much in love with.

And that’s not the worst part…

Linnzi Cunningham has no idea who I am. She has no idea how intertwined our terrible pasts are—and for that, she is lucky.

She doesn’t remember the night when everything important in her life, everything that she lived for, was taken from her by the man who promised he would always protect her.

That man was me.

To love her is to forget she ever existed in my world.

Take Me Away is a stand alone novel.

One Apocalypse (The Dark Side #4) by Kristy Cunning

The life goals have stacked up since I started this journey as a sad, lonely little ghost. I’m not sure how things escalated so quickly from trying to be seen and heard, to bearing the weight of the world on my vain little shoulders.
As a result, my goals have gotten a little more serious…

Goal #14: Learn to take a hit without breaking or suffering some type of death.

Goal #15: Decide once and for all if I’m going to save or destroy the world. I’m not sure why people put this sort of responsibility on hell-spawn like me.

Goal #16: Practice my evil laugh, because all hell-spawn need a good evil laugh.

Goal #17: Find and kill all the unicorns. Mwahahahahaha.

Goal #18: Live to enjoy forever with the guys I sacrificed all my memories to save.

Goal #19: No matter what, they don’t get to die. Or I really will be THE Apocalypse.

We’re the most screwed up collection of antiheroes the world has ever seen, because the only thing that makes me want to save the world is knowing I could lose my boys forever if I don’t. It’s one HELL of a love story, you know?

I enjoyed more the beginning than the end, because the end is always bittersweet especially with this author.

I was so glad I’ve read this series when all the books were out, because I don’t think I would have survived.

This series is phenomenal, I loved every minute / word of it.

I don’t think it’s a dark romance and my tolerance is low. It was fun, interesting plot and awesome characters.

It’s a RH series I read time and time again.

I won’t spoil the end, but it will be worth it. Paca saves the day and you won’t see it coming. She is truly an unpredictable character and one you’ll remember.

The books are currently at 0.99 USD each so I might think you will be foolish not to but them all.

Three Trials (The Dark Side #2) by Kristy Cunning

So, I’ve checked off some life goals and added a few new ones to my list.

Goal #5: Get out of hell’s belly without letting my ungrateful charges die.

Goal #6: Get a new name that’s more badass.

Goal #7: Stop wasting my breath on lectures and start annoying the quad hell squad every time they annoy me. Fight fire with fire. Ha! Another hell pun.

Goal 8: Find out who the hell killed me.

I’ll add more. I don’t want to overwhelm myself before I even finish checking off my old goals. But seriously, I really do need a more badass name, considering how much I have to keep saving my damsels in distress.

I probably shouldn’t call them damsels, since they’re a little murderous and all.

Maybe I should add seeing a hell-certified psychologist to my list of goals.

**Reverse Harem

Title: Three Trials (The Dark Side Book 2)
Author: Kristy Cunning
Publication Date: December 2nd, 2017
Shelves: Contemporary; Romance; Paranormal;
Format: Kindle (210 pages)
Rating: 10/10

We finally have more answers as to what Keyla is and her real name.

Because they complete the impossible trials, the world finally knows that Paca and her 4 Horsemen are back.

Now we understand more about their bond and how they came to find each other in every life. But the more answers we get, the more questions we make.
The author is brilliant and makes her books keep you close to your seat. I couldn’t stop reading.

The 2nd books comes with more twisted information. A lot of close deaths and builds up for their shared moment. Yup, we get a very hot, sexy and steamy scene for you to enjoy. I am glad it took that long, since we needed to bond with them as well. We need to understand how Paca is created and how she loves so deeply.

All this character development is critical, and every piece of information is necessary for you to understand their world.

War, Famine, Death and Conquest have their goal in their world and all of them need to find out what it is.

Again, this PNR series is a must on your TBR list.
