Rock Chick Rescue (Rock Chick #2) by Kristen Ashley

Jet McAlister has a secret. Eddie Chavez has the hots for Jet (not to mention Eddie’s just plain hot). Jet has too many problems to realize that Eddie’s interested. Eddie loses patience when Jet ends her waitressing shift at a strip club with a knife at her throat. Since Eddie’s a cop, he figures he can help. Since Jet’s used to solving everyone’s problems she doesn’t want Eddie’s help.

Throw in a Dolly Parton look-alike, a gruff but lovable strip club owner, Jet’s ne’er do well father, his ne’er do well friend, Bear, Bear’s long-suffering, chain-smoking wife Lavonne and the crew from Rock Chick and you’ve got Rock Chick Rescue.

Rock Chick Rescue takes you on a wild ride with Jet, Eddie and the gang as they wrestle bad guys in a bagel shop, hit Denver’s backstreet poker tables (with big hair), and help the strippers at Smithie’s take down a would-be murderer.

Through this, Jet’s got to learn that even when life made you give up your dreams, you can still end up with the (hot) guy. Eddie’s got to rescue Jet from a bad man (so he can do better things with her) and teach her that some dreams can come true.

Rock Chick Rescue was seriously just like a movie rolling in my imagination, just better. I mean, imagine a movie with so much details! Rock Chick Rescue made me giddy, just as the first book did.

We’ve met both Eddie Chavez and Jet McAlister in Rock Chick. I felt bad about Eddie being in love with Indy, but for sure Jet has earned her spot in my mind. They fit well together, I loved the chase and the way she avoided him. She’s a funny, funny girl, trying to be normal, but failing miserably. Just like Indy, wherever she went, trouble followed.

“Chiquita, women spend a lot of time sittin’ around bitchin’ that there are no good men out there.
I hate to tell you this, but there aren’t a lot of good women either.
The difference is, when a man sees one, he knows it.
Then, he goes after her and wears her down until she’s his.
Then, if he’s any man at all, he won’t let her go.”

Her Dad brings so much bad guys to her doorstep that she needs to be kept safe. Doing that is a challenge for Eddie, since she avoided him for months and now, he saw his opening and trying really hard to wear her down. There were so many hilarious moments that only made the journey worth it.

In Rock Chick Rescue we find out more about side character, like Marcus, Daisy and Darius. Also, Mace, who I think is the new Eddie, falling in love with the wrong girl. Tex has some romance in his life, so that’s really interesting.

“It was like the Justice League of Super Heroes but instead it was the Justice League of Hot Guys.”

I enjoyed reading how everyone took Jet in, had her back and watched how she blossomed from a shy, quiet girl, into a very hardcore Rock Chick.

“Babe, watching you these past months has been like watching a flower bloom. Don’t disappoint us.”

Be sure to expect chick fights, gunshot drama, kidnapping and more threats to being cuffed to a bed! Wink, Wink!
