Trying To Live With The Dead (The Veil Diaries Book 1)
by B.L. Brunnemer

Hi, I’m Alexis Delaney. I’m your average 17-year-old girl. Except I can see the dead. And talk to the dead. And push them away and, well, help them move on. So..okay, I’m not your average 17-year-old girl. For years I’ve been struggling to survive the souls still roaming around. The shitheads always seem to find me. Moving from town to town every few months never helped either. More dead just always find me. But things are changing for me now. I’m moving in with my uncle Rory and cousin Tara. I’m finally going to be able to do normal teenage stuff I’ve been missing out on. Right?

Well, if this one bitch of a ghost could leave me alone on campus that would be great. Especially since I haven’t told my new friends about my abilities. Can you believe this? Five good looking guys practically adopt me on my first day of school, and I still think they’re a bit nuts for it. Now if I can only just keep my life with the dead from mixing with my normal life, everything would be great. Yeah…I don’t see that happening either. But I’m going to give it a shot. Who knows? It might work.

Wow, I had so much fun reading this one. I kept hearing only good recs so I started right away. I have a few books in this series to catch up to, but I don’t mind.

Alexis, or Lexie, or Red, or Beautiful, or Ally how the boys call her, is becoming one of my favorite female characters! Man, she is one funny tough cookie! She blends in with the guys quickly as they “adopt” her from day 1 and manages to keep them on their toes!

Now, let’s talk about the guys! It’s still a mystery of what or how they will fit in the whole paranormal stuff vs. dead people, but I am curious about it all. I love how they protect and gravitate around Lexie.

This is an RH romance, but so far, the plot is focused on the friendship of them all. There is no romance between them, even though Zeke sometimes calls her “baby”. This small stuff makes me feels so much when reading it, especially during slow burns!

Zeke, Asher, Isaac, Ethan are becoming one group to keep my eye on!

BL Brunnemer says this series will have around 15 books during their years in high school. Lexie is only 17 now. They say a series will be on to follow their lives as adults!

As a conclusion, while reading this one I was giggling the whole time.
