I fell in love with Meghan Quinn’s book The Locker Room and the story of Know and Emory. Now we get to see the story about Knox’s best friend Carson Stone.

Carson got injured when his career should have been at its peak, and now he’s the only senior left to play baseball after a tough recovery. Only now, he’s an angry version of what he used to be, since his game is off, and he needs to fight for his chance to get drafted. All of his friends have already been drafted, but no one dared to take a chance on a recovery athlete, even if he was one of the best.

His luck changes when he meets Milly Porter, a baseball whisperer, his Godmother on the field. She will help him recover his swing. I don’t really know baseball, but I felt like everything was explained to “dummy” language so I can understand their world. Sorry, I’m more of a basketball fan!

Milly Porter is the sister of baseball legend Cory Porter and with her other 2 brothers manages to change the impression that women can’t impact the sports of men. She’ll be partner in their D1 training facility.

Everything goes well, they meet, fall in love, but life struck and Carson finds out his father is ill. During this major moment of his life, he shuts down, and that means Molly will have to stay strong and guard her heartbreaking heart.

As a timeline, if you read The Dugout before The Locker Room, in this book Knox is placed after college but before getting back together with Emory.

Either book can be read as a standalone, but our suggestion is to read The Dugout after.
