The Bribe (Calamity Montana Book 1) by Willa Nash (Devney Perry)

From USA Today Bestselling Author Devney Perry writing as Willa Nash comes a small town Montana romance.

Duke Evans didn’t expect to find a beautiful woman in a staring contest with a bison on his favorite hiking trail. He also didn’t expect to see her again after rescuing her from the surly beast. As the sheriff in Calamity, Montana, he’s had his fair share of surprises but none as pleasant as pulling over a shiny black car and finding his mysterious hiking companion behind the wheel.

Only she lied to Duke. She gave him a name as fake as her hair color. According to her driver’s license, her real name is Lucy Ross, the famous country music singer whose sudden disappearance has been a hot topic on the radio over the past two weeks.

He’s not sure why Lucy lied about her identity or why she’s in Calamity. And she’s not talking. Instead, she offers him a bribe to keep her secret.

Duke doesn’t want her money. He wants to know why this beautiful woman is on the run. And as long as the star shines on his badge, he’s going to find out.

Devney Perry is back with a new small town series, books written by her under the Pen Name of Willa Nash. The style is the same, from my point of view, so I don’t understand the change, but I will always read her books because she’s awesome and her writing hits me every time.

Now, Lucy is a well known, famous country singer who in on the run because she has a stalker that scared her enough to go by Jade and move to a small town where nobody,  hopefully will recognize her.

Before moving she decides to go on a hike with her best friends where she meets by accident gorgeous Duke Evans, who turns to be none other than the Sheriff on local Calamity, her new home. And he finds out who she is from day 1.

This was a great start to a brand new series, I can’t wait to read what the author has in plan.
