Fake It ‘Til You Break It by Meagan Brandy

Fake.
That’s what we are.
That’s what we agreed to be.

I thought it would be harder, convincing everyone our school’s star receiver was mine and mine alone, but we played our parts well.

So well, the lines between us began to blur until they disappeared completely.

The thing about pretending, though, someone’s always better at it, and by the time I realized my mistake, there was no going back.

I fell for our lie.
And then everything fell apart.

It turned out, he and I were never playing the same game.

He didn’t have to break me to win.
But he did it anyway.

Wow!!! This book has been everything I hope it would be!

Meagan Brandy strikes again and I hope you enjoy the hell out of this one.

I was lucky enough to be picked up for an ARC so if you’re here debating to read it, I strongly recommend it. It’s free on KU by the way!

Demi is a high school good girl. She rocks her hip hop moves and plays it safe. Her mother is never there for her, but she has her friends and her life is ok-ish. That is until big guy Nico, her neighbor and classmate messes with her chemistry class / new partner. While she had her eyes set on being partners again with her little crush, Nico swoops in.

And boy, oh boy, he changes the game and proposes to become her fake boyfriend in the pretense that she’ll be notice if she dates him for a while.

But Nico secretly has other plans and soon it’s too late to turn back. Lines are crossed, the fake becomes too real and soon, BOOM, Meagan gives us something we did not expect.
