Book Review Carnal Secrets by Suzanne Wright

Carnal Secrets (The Phoenix Pack #3) by Suzanne Wright
A pack Alpha and his estranged, true mate wrestle with painful secrets, ruthless enemies, and their own irresistible attraction, in the sexy third book of the Phoenix Pack series.
Half-shifter Shaya Critchley may hold a submissive role in her pack, but sheβs done taking orders. After her Alpha wolf mate refused to claim herβbut committed to interfering in her lifeβshe took off. Now she hides from him, posing as a human in a town full of anti-shifter extremist groups. She thinks heβll never find her again, and that suits her just fine. But sheβs wrong.
Nick Axton can barely control his feelings for Shaya, but he could never claim herβnot if he truly cares for her. The degenerative brain condition he keeps secret would ultimately leave her with a burden rather than a mate. But when Shaya runs away, Nick canβt bear the thought of never seeing her again. After tracking her down, he discovers Shayaβs feisty and passionate side in the processβ¦a side heβd never seen before.
Under the menacing gazes of territorial local packs and violent human extremists, Nick vows to finally claim the spirited Shayaβ¦and despite her initial resistance, Shaya just might find his fiery determination to be the ultimate aphrodisiac.
This series is one of the good ones. I repeat, it doesn’t get to be overlooked because it has everything you need in a PNR book.
We have known Shaya from book 1 of the series and know already that she is fated to be Nick Axton’s mate, but she is a submissive wolf, meaning she is in danger if Nick mates with her. Being an Alpha wolf comes with a lot of difficulties for a submissive wolf and Nick prefers to ignore his urges and keep his distance.
All this changes when Shaya decides she’s had enough and runs to hide from him into the human world. But of course, Nick follows.
Now here comes the redemption part, which is totally worth it.
