Well, The Boys of Brayshaw left me feeling a lot! In the last few weeks, I heard a lot of fuss about this book, so naturally I had to read it. I feel like I should have done this a lot sooner, but that cliffhanger left me wanting for more. Fortunately, the second book comes soon!
Raven (Oh, I just love that name!!!) is one 17-year-old girl who has been through a lot. This made her into a badass defensive young lady, who fights back (Literally), does not answer to no one, has more feistiness than your most heroines and catches the eye of the most wanted trio: The boys of Brayshaw!
Maddoc, Captain and Royce run the part of the town and the school of Brayshaw, a rival school of Graver. There is some old bad blood between the founding families of this town and Raven will be in the middle of it all.
They say it’s a RH series, but so far you just get a glimpse of it, so I am not so sure about that. Maddoc will take over Raven for himself but he does see how his brothers feel about her and how she feels about them. Therefore, if you’re looking for more action, this book will just lay the facts and hopefully the next one will bring the action, if you know what I mean. There’s a goofy wink at the end of that sentence! Since I am not sure about this, I will not categorize it as RH. Just because it’s a bit confusing, and there’s a scene to give you more, Maddoc has been clear about the fact that he doesn’t share.
“If someone tries to hurt you, I need you to tell me.” “I can’t do that.” He pushes closer, his expression angrier. “Why not?” “Because I’m not your problem.” “Be my problem.”
This is my first book from Meghan Brandy, but I foresee myself reading more of her work.
